I guess I got your attention..

Short -

I need a solution for people to design simple home pages, 5-10 pages each, so they can show off their roses and other flowers.

As you can imagine even MS FrontPage would be too frustrating for these over 50 years old users.

The "auto-generation" software can be hosted on Unix, NT, or any server (I will buy the server I need to run the software I need).

Ideally the design would be a downloadable program that would sit on their local computer (for speed) and then be upload/interface with the server after the pages have been created.

Please keep in mind that what is intuitive to you and me would probably frustrate these people.

If your mom couldn't understand it to design one halfway decent webpage in 20 minutes then my target audience would give up on it altogether.

My business model won't support a $50,000 a year license. I need to get the price down to about $10 per month for say 100 users.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

p.s. I tried a search on al the forums and couldn't find anything - If you find something on the boards please let me know what query you used.

Did you check cgi-resources.com?
They have some really good free site creation tools.

I had tried most of the catalogue script sites.
I stopped visiting cgi-resourses for programs about a year ago because it seemed like most of the scripts were getting "stale" (very usable, but basic).
However your post will cause me to revisit them. (They used to be "Matt's Script Archive", correct?).

I've already got a couple dozen scripts loaded into my beta machine that I have looked at from other sites. This is such a ^IQ, ^S/N, ^tech, group I thought I would ask for recommendations before trying to reinvent the wheel.

I thank you for your input.

if you don't fear m$, they have something called Dynamic HTML Editing Component, look at msdn.microsoft.com, there's also a downloadable example there
you can use it as an activex (web interface) or create a simple app
