I don't want to go with lycos anymore because they have that big banner that takes up 1/4 of your page to the right. So does anyone know of a Free web host that has My SQL and PHP?

Is there a reason you want a domain and hosting for free?

NameCheap accepts paypal for domain registration.
Brinkster.com used to have banner free hosting I think.
Other than that, beggars can't be choosers.
If you can't afford hosting be prepared to have banners.

So why don't you ask your parents - I'm sure if they're paying for your internet connection they wouldn't mind paying a few dollars for web hosting?

I'm not saying that someone won't give you a free site (i'm sure someone out there is very generous).

But asking for a free domain and hosting without saying what you'll give in return is a bit much don't you think?

I also think that hosting is not something that should be free - and if it is - take the quarter page ad. It actually costs companies money to give away free accounts and putting an ad on every page doesn't really help their bottom line too much.

If you post in the free hosting request forum you should have no problems finding someone.

Yes, just look in the forums that we gave you...posting a request would be a good idea. Most likely you will have to carry some semblence of a banner or ad, but very small in return for free hosting.

There are several issues with FREE Hosting.
For one, the host may drop your account at any time, for any reason.
I'd advise you to lower your expectations.. as not many people will want to host someone who wants more than the reasonable amount for FREE.
I myself try to please clients very much.. but, if a client wants to take an arm and a leg, and pay me $2-5/month ... We have an issue.
Ussually, your bet is to take what you have, and deal with the pros and cons. Its always the best bet..

www.polarhome.com is a good one.

ftp, mysql, php, 1 email inbox. Yes, they're having 1 small problem, you can't upload files very fast. (it's not fast, but it's not super slow either) but i guess that's because it's for free. ;)
