View Full Version : MXHUB is horrible. It took down my site w/o ANY notification.

Not only that. I e-mailed them to ask why it was down, and they responded saying that they are no longer supplying NT hosting! WTF is up with that?! So basically I paid for NT hosting and now they just pull out the plug!

I'm EXTREMELY fumed that they didn't EVEN try to contact me and tell me that my site will be going down. I'm VERY happy that I only purchased 3 months (only 1 month has passed) instead of a year. It's a good thing I wasn't really hosting anything important on that site either.

But I may have to switch hosts as I was using that host b/c it did have Cold Fusion support, but I doubt it will anymore (unless they use Linux CFML).

Anyone have any ideas as to whether or not I am worthy of some type of compensation?

I doubt if you'll be able to recoup your losses. Most hosts cover themsleves quite well in their TOS.
But, your statement "I may have to switch hosts" is kind of confusing to me.
Why would you even consider staying with a host that would take down your site without warning??

Well, after reviewing their TOS, you may very well be entitled to the remainder of your contract back.Taken from their Terms of Service page. . . .CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
MxHub reserves the right to cancel the service at any time. In this event customers will be entitled to a pro rata refund based upon the remaining period of membership

First I say that b/c finding another host is PIA. Also, I may just want to stay with them until the time I actually paid them goes up.

I also say that b/c I was thinking of converting to PHP anyways..but of course I still do need a CFML host.

So if anyone has opinions on sole PHP hosts that are dependable and have VERY good service tell me. I may just host the CFML stuff off my computer at home. :(

You might want to check out Aletiahosting.com... I just signed up with them last week after looking for a PHP/MySQL host and they've been great so far. Their support is awesome.

Check out their August special -- 10 gig transfer/mo, 500 megs, 10 db's... nothing to complain about so far. :D

Mxhub screwed me big time.. Lost my site that I had over 1000 hours in. they could care less.

Did you go through paysystems.com to pay for your Mxhub services?

I sent an email to paysystems.com to get my refund. They are an awesome company because they immediately refunded my money. I suggest you try them. Post the receipt that was emailed to you along with a letter explaining your delima.

I hate MXHUB with a passion and will pass my experience along to anyone who will listen.

Wow, that really sucks. Sorry about that. Luckily I didn't lose anything that important. But I did get a full refund from MxHub. So in the end, it wasn't too bad.
