View Full Version : Multiple Image ... again

Well, every event is celebrated a year later, if it mattered. Last August, Multiple Image had a massive fiber cut in early August, and like all major events, there is an aniversary one year later--another massive outage.

August 5, 2003, a conduit was sliced into by a road worker, which was repaired a week later, but still had 8 days downtime. After that, plans to change the datacenter to a multi-conduit system went horribly wrong, or so I have been told. A week after the network went back up, everything went back down. Aparently, the new backup conduit was turned on while the primary one was still running.

As I have been told, the conduits killed eachother. Now, last week, Tim tried to contact me yet another time and told me they expected everything to be up last week wednesday. Well, nothing.

Does anyone believe that a conduit issue such as the one described could cause this much downtime if the right things happened progressively?

I would be a bit more upset with Tim, himself, if he never tried to contact me. I have woken up many mornings since this all started with him trying to contact me over Yahoo.

I have a few people telling me the entire story is impossible, but I want the input of you guys.

I will be moving a good portion of my servers from Tim, not all, but most. All client servers and servers used by our clients will be moved indeffinently until I can see that the network is stable for at least 6 months.

Also, does anyone know any useful phone numbers for Tim? The number on his whois info gets me someone who claims to not know a Tim, but I don't believe her since that's the number for Tim in the Tucson phone book.

Ohi, this is a horrible situation. Anyone else effected?
