Some of you might know that recently directoris account and all it's member accounts was terminated by donhost.

Someone at freewebspace.net sent an email to Donhost and got this reply

Hi,

Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that we have terminated their account since they have
failed to settle invoices outstanding on it in the agreed time.

If you require any additional information or we can be of any further
assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

Daniel Conlon

Vincent's (Directoris owner) email to his cutomers

First, I would like to confirm that Directoris still exists.

We had a lot of problems with Donhost (the owner of the server) since we started to work with them: uptime not exceeding 85%, unstable Control Panel, low support, etc...

Then, two weeks ago, they asked us to leave... or to buy a server from them. The reason given was: "You are not financially interesting for us." Day after day, they started to remove some accounts and, two days ago they finally deleted all our accounts.

What will happen next?

Regarding Donhost: We have started a legal action. Believe me, I'll do everything I can to stop Daniel Conlon and his colleagues to carry on such business. They have damaged my business and they will pay for it.

Regarding our customers: We do have another server collocated at the new Data Center of SiteGenie LLC, USA. It is ready and we will transfer or re-open all the accounts, as we said. The work should start today. You can contact SiteGenie LLC at sales@sitegenie.com if you need confirmation on what I just said. I know some people are very skeptical (I understand why) and by contacting this company you will discover that I'm telling you the truth.

This new server will be, without any doubt, much more reliable and the Control Panel (from Ensim) will give you more features.

Sincerely, I am so sorry about what happened and I do apologize for this major trouble.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,

Vincent Hirth

So now, who's gonna be able to tell first when Directoris will be back online?

this far I've heard in 3 days, and in late september...!

Who's the good guys in all of this!?

Waiting for a reply back from directoris about my new account settings.

I'm trying to be patient as if their entire setup was downed as is stated then theyve got a lot of frantic work to do. I chose to beleive the bit about a new server, has anyone checked with their new host to confirm this?

I am waiting for a reply on eta for uptime again, willing to accept a few days in the circumstances but not much more. Told them not to worry about moving my site, just send me the new details and I'll take care of rebuilding it.

Could do with my site being back up, the search engines had just gotten round to having a look at it :(

I'll have a crack at this... :-)

As far as uptime not exceeding 85%, that is absolute nonsense.

Control panel...well, it started to cause a fewproblems, and is now being upgraded. I wouldn't call it unstable though.

But on the financial side of things...we have a constant problem with one particular Visa card. Thankfully Donhost have afforded us time to sort it out, almost every month. I've seen others that aren't so flexible.

Gary ,

you would have to admit they have been slow and unreliable in the recent past. Server 6 is real bad.

Not that we're seeing from down here. Sub 500ms pings. No packet loss. Maybe a few minutes of downtime a week, if that. Believe me, we hear about it if any of our services/servers are down. Usually half a dozen site monitors first, followed by a few dozen "you guys having any problems?" emails.

We just don't see the same problems (personal or technical) that anyone else has with Donhost.

So they actually have their server delivered now, shouldnt be very long before we have access to our accounts then should it.

If this is so I will be OK with it, but Directoris need to keep their customers better informed. Other than this I have no complaints.

Oh brother...

Craig that Rabbits foot got some kind of banned substance in it? :D

Well lemme see... Control Panel... not at fault really if you consider reports that functions have completed successfully, etc... as working to spec when in fact that haven't.

Ah well... as far as the rest goes the facts seem ambiguous but if Donhost did actually give the reason as "You are not financially interesting for us" and you can prove it then I would imagine it may be considered breach of contract...

The whole "unpaid invoices" thing though has me somewhat sceptical...

Donhost were useless.
The control panel kept locking people out, mysql databases disappeared mysteriously as did files, accounts dropped out, uptime was crap.

TRUST directoris.
We are on your side!
There is a new server and accounts are being created as we speak.

How soon do Directoris plan to have everyone informed of their new account settings and info?

I dont suppose you could call my case urgent but it would be nice to have my site up again. I'm not bothered about having my site moved etc. (did you get a chance to backup everyone's sites under the circumstances anyway?), just the new account will do.

<<MOD NOTE:>>
Please ask specific questions about your account, etc., directly to your host, rather than post the question on the boards. Hosts, please do not answer specific support requests here, thank you.

I know this is frowned on but at this point in time there is no way I have to contact them directly. All the support emails I sent bounced back because I have no other point of contact at the moment. Once they get to contacting me again (from their new server) I will know their email works again.

Apologies.

There is a forum here dealing just with the Directoris issues.
