I remember seeing on the forum a post which had a site that offered free secure certificates for servers. I couldn’t find it doing a search. Does anyone know what site am referring to?

JackMitchell 09-11-2003, 03:28 AM EDIT: Nope.. wrong URL  eddy2099 09-11-2003, 03:29 AM The FreeSSL cost $35/year now. :) JackMitchell 09-11-2003, 03:30 AM Maybe it was right www.freessl.com :) davet 09-11-2003, 03:34 AM According to www.freessl.com i guess the certificates are not really "Free". Kinda misleading :( eddy2099 09-11-2003, 04:08 AM If I am not wrong, freessl used to offer a 1 year trial on the SSL but you need to renew on the 2nd. Then they hike the price to $17 then $27 and now $35. garrence 09-11-2003, 04:32 AM Cheapest SSL certs I've seen are the Geotrust ones at $25 per year from Rackshack. I don't know if these are available to non-customers, but worth a try. JackMitchell 09-11-2003, 05:08 AM Those SSL's WERE free but arent anymore :( sprintserve 09-11-2003, 05:18 AM If you need an SSL certificate, you should be able to afford $25/year. Freessl no longer offers the free SSL. They stopped since May or something. davet 09-11-2003, 02:12 PM Originally posted by sprintserve If you need an SSL certificate, you should be able to afford $25/year. Yeah that's not a problem, I was just curious about the free ones :) Rich2k 09-11-2003, 03:53 PM on the freessl site it does say that they are planning to implement free trials again though. |
