Today I tried to sign up for Rackshack's dedicated server.
I couldn't finish the sign-up procedure because my browser crashed when reaching the first secure page. That's weird because I always use Netscape 4.6 successfully for secure pages.
Anyway when I send a notification by email it bounced. Reason: the mailserver of my ISP - which happens to be the largest ISP in Holland - was blocked because it appears to offer open relay support.
When I phoned Rackshack they offered two alternatives. First option was to use Explorer. Not a hot idea because Explorer needs an upgrade of Windows before it can support secure pages. Second option was to sign up by fax. Great idea, but knowing Rackshack their fax-equipment will be incompatible as well.
I wonder why Rackshack is incapable of providing an online sign-up procedure which works.
I also wonder why the **** they reject email from their customers. Basically it means that if you sign up with Rackshack you won't be able to contact them by email for support if your ISP gets blacklisted.
