View Full Version : One day in, and my hosts' support already impresses me :)
ikellen 09-09-2003, 04:33 PM Well I went to order my plan off of NetStartz website. unfortunately I made an error filling out the form, and 2checkout would not process my order. Worried and concerned, I went to the NetStartz forum and stated my problem. Steve, the owner, replied back quickly with a solution to my problem. I will have to re-order my plan tonight, but I like it how NetStartz didnt put me down or treat me bad. Thanks Steve, you have an awesome operation!
Cirtex 09-09-2003, 04:35 PM Glad to hear it ikellen,

It is great to have you onboard; myself and the rest of the team look forward to providing you with high quality hosting services and support. :)

Thank you for the kind words. :)

Hey there. :) - We have since moved our servers away from hostany as support there was horrible and a simple reboot request would go unanswered for hours. We immediately moved all servers to ev1 and nac. Our main rackshack server, which is hosting ~75% of our customers has been up now for 100% for the past three months (3rd Party Alertra Stats).

ikellen, it's a pleasure to have you onboard.
:D
UH-Matt 09-09-2003, 06:51 PM Find a host which isnt awsome BEFORE you have signed up ;)
CrazyTech 09-09-2003, 06:53 PM Matt has a very valid point. Just about any host is great before you sign up. It's the part that comes afterwords that counts. I am sure you won't have problems however.
UH-Matt 09-09-2003, 06:54 PM Oh yeah - I better clarify that was in no way a negative remark. Just odd to post before your even a customer.
Im sure you will love their service.
essexguy 09-09-2003, 07:06 PM although i was with Netstartz back when i was operating as a reseller, and the had all those problems with their datacenter. If I recall steven, it was when you had a server or two with Burst and their network was then horrible.
But I'm really glad you guys at NetStartz have turned it around.
Taylor 09-09-2003, 08:21 PM Steve is a great guy, gl with everything!
ikellen 09-09-2003, 09:18 PM UH Matt-
I can understand you point.......I had many hosts sweet talking me when all I wanted to know was how many MySQL databases they offered. The hosts that aren't very estblished will talk as nice as they ever will to get you to go with them. When I talked to Steve over AIM, he very straight up and informative. It was a nice break from the a**-kissing you sometimes get from the shotty hosts :D

Ahh, Yes during the "wonderful" :o BurstNet Valentine's special. We tried to do the best we could given the situation we were put into, but without a stable datacenter to back you it is very difficult to provide a good service, no matter how great your support and added services are.
Find a host which isnt awsome BEFORE you have signed up ;)
I understand exactly what you are talking about here, but I had to read it twice as it is a little confusing at first. At first it seems as if you are saying a host that seems awsome BEFORE you sign up will not continue to be awsome AFTER you sign up. ;)
I'm almost 99% positive that ikellen will be back in 8-16 weeks with an update to post iin this thread that he loved the service, etc. Our ultimate goal is to help everyone of our resellers become establised enough to eventually move on to their own dedicated server and start there own operations.
Of course the money is nice, I mean isn't eveyone in this industry for the money? But seeing your own customers grow from small local resellers to being a competitor some day is also fulfilling. :)

I think it's absolutely useless to kiss a**, as you say, or to tell the potential customer something we're not capable of. We guarantee only what we know for a fact we can provide. This is why I'm glad that I have found two datacenters that have a long successful running.
;) I think I posted it here before or probably said it in #wht, but my ultimate goal is 3yrs from now is for someone to say NetStartz and people know and respect the name as they do Matt and UH. We will get there making one customer happy at a time.
:D
