What can I have done about this? FireStormNET 09-08-2003, 02:32 PM If you are sure, that they copied your material, then you should first confont them, with an email and ask them to remove the copied parts of the site, if that does not work, or they will not respond. Then you may have to threaten legal actin, as long as you can prove that the material was copyrighted or was taken from you. Jim jason012 09-08-2003, 02:37 PM ohh I can ... they are my buttons to a T.. color and all and we have been in business wayyyyyy longer than this kid has. My client told me this isnt the first time they have had trouble with this place. So I am seriously going to take the steps necessary to have something done about this. Thanks :) nogi 09-08-2003, 05:51 PM You could send them a standard message like: Greetings, I am sending you this notification to ask you to please remove OUR site design from YOUR portfolio. I really do not appreciate people stealing our designand passing it as their own. Failure to comply will result in lawful actions against you and your "company". We will be monitoring your site, domain.com, to make sure you take this off and we will expect a personal apology from you for this shameless act. We hope this matter can be resolved quickly and amicably, but rest assured we will not hesitate to press matters further if you fail to comply in the next 2 days. etc... John CrazyTech 09-08-2003, 05:55 PM Something along the line nogi made would be what you need. Hopefully you will scare the "kid" into removing the content and not be forced to use a lawyer or spend money. However if he does not comply send him a second email saying that he will hear from your lawyer in a matter of days and contact your company lawyer and work it out from there. |
