I am going to be running a webserver on a Windows 2000 machine, and I was looking for some free HTTP software (besides Apache). I also am looking for a FTP server as well that allows unlimited users with restricted access, as well as detailed logging. I am unsure how I configure DNS (how to get it set up) I do have serveral static IP address I am able to use, but I am unsure what is involved in setting it up. Thank you.

Regarding your DNS...
Are you hosting your server with a provider who can manage your own DNS or are you just frustrated with how long it takes most providers to update your DNS request?
If you're doing this on your own (out of a business or are on your own in datacenter rack), you might want to open a thread just about setting up MS DNS.
IIS is Absolutley horrible - but it does have web and ftp servers. I comes bundled with Win 2K - I highly urge you to consider apache (for win32) though.

What's wrong with Apache? We have Apache running on some NT/2k machines w/ no problems.
=) yup, apache rules.

IIS is Absolutley horrible IIS is not that bad. If you plan to use ASP & Database stuff, it's the best way to go. For what you want to do with FTP, I would not use MS FTP. It's to limited on users as you need a CAL for each user.
I would look at FTP SERV-U or BulletProof FTP. Now they are not free, they are the best out there for the price.
Also, MS DNS is pretty easy to install and use.

The only reason I was staying away from Apache was because I heard it was not easy to setup and use? Is there any truth to this? I am not a computer geek and I do not have to time to spend hours setting up a server. As long as it is not to difficult, I should not have a problem. Thank you.

It may not be as easy as IIS (I don't know, I've only used it once), but it shouldn't take you hours to setup, etc.
However, Mike was right. If you're going to be using a lot of ASP/DB, you may want to go with IIS.
