That's not necessary. I have a few clients from Middle East (Qatar, Kuwait, etc) and they had mentioned to me that I had great speed for them, and I am hosted in US.

Flag Telecom has more Middle East routes (directly connected Middle Eastern customers) than any other network. They claim to have over 60%, if I recall correctly, of Middle East (Arabic country) routes.

So, you should ensure to go with a provider that is directly connected to Flag Telecom, be it peering or for transit.

AboveNet (formerly known as MFN) also has quite a lot of customers in the Middle East (my guess would be upwards to 10% of Middle Eastern routes), but, not nearly as many as Flag Telecom.

And as for India, Flag is one of the only major global networks that has actual major POPs in India, too.

So, I think as long as you get a provider that is directly connected to Flag, and also otherwise well connected, you'll be in excellent shape.

fine. lemme finish wut hjass really wants to say but dare not to say (per the mighty forum fules). - superbservers.net does peer with both Flag Telecom and Abovenet so u should expect great connectivity to middle east if u go with them.

hjass u gotta thank me for that eh. :D

True, but so do others, such as nac.net, for example.

The point was, almost anyone connected to Flag Telecom will be a good choice.

Out of random curiousity (I'm not looking for one or anything... but as long as we're talking about it), are there (m)any dedicated server / colocation places in the Middle East? And how are they price/performance wise? Does it end up working better to just get a $99 RackShack box, or are there any good-value hosts for those serving the Middle Eastern market?

Depends what you would call Middle East, You can get a good price for colocation in Israel, but the dedicated server market doesnt exist. (good price = ~$150/mbit including everything else)
