hello, sorry if I'm ot... I'm not sure which thread is the right one for this.

I want to start offering domain registration on my website, without webspace. Therefore the service I want to offer is:

a) domain parking
b) domain forwarding (but with frames to have the url not changing)

which registrar/reseller would you suggest to do this? right now I'm with directnic.com. they are really reliable but not the cheapest. further, they do not offer an admin interface for admins (me and my future customers) to administer all the redirects.

Do you know if there is any company offering something like this... but cheap (at least cheaper than directnic < $15)? Should there not be a company offering such an advancend reseller service, which is the cheapest registrar around wich offers domain registration+nameserver entries + forward/redirecting service?

thanks indeed!

Have you taken a look at OpenSRS (http://www.opensrs.com) they are very popular!

Try the API at stargateinc.com. Only have to prepay for 20 domains at 8.00

http://www.stargateinc.com/pages/stargatesrs.htm.

Stargate is a bit dodgy though, and the API is only for Windows NT/2000 systems. I'd stay away from them if at all possible.

Check out http://www.registrars.com (their 'Global Partner Program' is free -- and gives reasonable commissions).

Registrars.com costs 21.00 per domain, for 0-9 registrations
even if you do 500+ it's 12.00 not very good prices..

Dotster is a bit cheaper 15.00 for small sales.. but thats 5 cents more then they normally charge.. Dont understand the benefits of these programs

#1 there aint no money in selling domains.
#2 Using cj.com and dotster program you get 1.50 per sale
selling domains for dotster.. smarter choice until lately

Dotster now redirects traffic to main page
where they are now offering web hosting and 15000 other services.... so basically I am now removing domain stuff altogether.. how can i refer my webhosting clients to a competing site?

All other programs are waste of time, unless you just want to piss your money away to offer the service to look proffessional, but anyone who knows anythign will know your a reseller anyhow...

Also I have yet to have any inquiries about offering such a service.. so its basically a wasted effort in my eyes

hi blofish,

thanx for your post. well, fact is that my website (a community) has about 500,000 single visitors per month, and I'm more than sure that I would be able to sell quite a high number of domains if domain + parking/redirect is priced lower than $20.

I was thinking about CJ and others, too.... but my website is not in english, and this means that a commission by pay per sale or pay per lead would be minimal.

The only good and cheap company i know yet, is directnic.com.... but they do not offer a way to administer the domain directly by the user (changing forwards and so on)....

therefore... we are at the beginning again... see my first post :-)

I bought most of my domains from www.discountdomainregistry.com for $14.99 each.
They also sell bulk.

Try to ask them, they are good. I have over 50 domains with them.

Go to http://www.dotster.com I've used em myself and they are very good! Price is domains is $12.95 a year but that's not all for com/net/org they sell other extensions which I can't explain cause I don't remember what other domains were! Anyways that's all I can say for now! :)

Try these also

http://www.enom.com
http://www.inww.com

these are I think the cheapest. Also if you can prepay for more than 500 domains, most will be able to give you around $7 - $8 per name.

Hi:

I am using alldomains.com for mine. Domains for me are $12 each, or $10 in groups of 10 or more. Transfers are also $10. They have domain parking, and web/email forwarding for an additonal fee. There is an API, but I have never used it, so I can't say if it is good or not. See what you think.

i like gkg.net

they allow you to completely customize everything, so its not obvious that you are just a reseller

start at 9.99$
depending how many you get it goes down to 6-7$ if im not mistaken.
