I would like to purchase (preferably from the colocation ISP) a Sun Netra X1 and colocate it there.

Is anyone colocating a Netra X1, where and what is your experience with the Netra x1 / ISP?

Gary

I couldn't agree more :D

These people are great! Beware of the 3-4 week waiting list though :(

Manny,

what area are you in (or does it matter if you aren't local to the datacenter). I know where this setup can be had and can check on the pricing (I'm thinking under $1k).

If it's a "supply and demand" situation that holds up delivery, due to popularity and inability for a supplier to fulfill orders, then that would usually mean it's worth the wait.

Ours didn't take 3 weeks...but it certainly wasn't ready on the spot. Well worth it though. :-)

The wait is beyond well worth it. Their servers are so incredible, it's amazing they're still in business.

The servers are decked out, top of the line, directly on an OC-48 connection and, best of all, they're yours after 20 months :)

Manny,

I checked my source and it looks like they dropped it because everyone else is flocking to Linux these day and they weren't getting any orders for sparc platforms. I like Sun, what a bummer.
