Looking at getting a dedicated server hosting a 16 man UT server w/ rocket-X.
Couple questions:
1. I'm thinking of going with Servermatrix (if they get any $99 servers in), and would like to know if 750GB a month is enough? It's hard for me to estimate that....
2. The machine is a celery 1.7. Is that sufficient?
3. They mention that they allow Root access to the box, so I imagine this includes TS access?
This is my first time gettting a dedicated server, so I hope my questions aren't too dumb. Go easy on me...

Windows 2000 Advanced Server / Server or Windows 2003 = yes it'll include TS access
750GB a month should be enough
I'd recommend getting a minimum of P4 2GHz w/1GB ram, that way you know it won't be laggy.

Lol, sorry. Yea, it will be a win2k3 server. Thanks for the reply!

The celery will be fine for one server, but the lack of cache will be readily apparent with two. TS doesn't require root access to install, since it doesn't use any sub-1000 ports.

Thanks hiryuu! Actually, I was meaning if the windows servers had terminal service access, since root doesnt really mean anything in the windows world.

Well you should confirm with your webhost, as they may include another package. Tell them that you want Terminal Services.

One more question...Serverbeach has the RapidReboot thing which has some pretty intriguing features:

Being able to reboot yourself if the server is hung seems pretty cool.
Does anyone else, like RS or servermatrix, have anything like this?
And I havent seen much regarding them like if they are good for gaming servers? Thoughts?

You can order an APC Remote Reboot port which should do the same thing

ServerMatrix is so good you won't need to reboot it yourself. :)
(Meaning that whenever I've needed a reboot it happens within 30 minutes...)
