You have a resellers account, right?

Did you try to register your own anonymous name servers (ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com) or are you using your web hosts name servers?

Who is your domain registrar?

In my experience, www.NameCheap.com

Go to http://www.dnsreport.com/ and type in your domain name. This will do a check on your domain name and see if there are any problems to the DNS entry. Chances are something is wrong somewhere.

Was the Domain Name + IP included in the DNS Servers for the domain name entry at your registered ?

well I am with vshosting.net I got 2 DNS from them.

I went to dnsreport and I got most of it passed but these

WARN: SOA EXPIRE value | WARNING: Your SOA EXPIRE time is : 86400 seconds. This seems a bit low. You should consider increasing this value to about 1209600 to 2419200 seconds (2 to 4 weeks). RFC1912 recommends 2-4 weeks. This is how long a secondary/slave nameserver will wait before considering its DNS data stale if it can't reach the primary nameserver.

FAIL: MX Category | ERROR: I couldn't find any MX records for vayssa.com. If you want to receive E-mail on this domain, you should have MX record(s). Without any MX records, mailservers should attempt to deliver mail to the A record for vayssa.com. I can't continue in a case like this, so I'm assuming you don't receive mail on this domain.

FAIL: connect Mail Servers | ERROR: I could not find any mailservers for vayssa.com.

everything else passed with a PASS

Warnings are okay. There are not critical.

Check the top options where it states NS Records, are they the ones for your problem site ?

everything passed the the Name Servers, the Domain and everything.

Onlything that didnt pass is the emails and I am guessing that is because the domain hasnt resolved.

Good to know.

With your own PC, do a PING to see if it resolve to the right IP address for the Domain Name.

Go to http://www.tracert.com and do the following :-

1) IP Resolver
2) PING : Select a few locations and see if they resolve

All the best

okay I pinged to USA, MD, Rockville, Heller information Services (via MCI - CAIS)

and this is what I got

Ping Output

Is that supposed to be correct ? If it is pingable would suggest that some services are on and the dns portion resolves.

If 'His.com' is your domain then I can actually see the site from here.

Just did a DNSReport on the domain name and it seems that the error of the 'Connect to Mail Server' error is probably due to an error in the entry of one of the Nameservers. there should be a '.' behind the domain name.. Should have been his.com. , I guess they place it as his.com and thus it tagged along the rest of the string his.com.his.mail2.psmtp.com

Jon, i know your domain

It's still pointing to enoms nameservers.

As you have a reseller account i'm assuming you have private nameservers.

You need register the nameservers at enom, and then direct the domain to those nameservers.

Login to your enom account, select the domain go to "register dns" then you need to add the nameservers with the names you want to use for them and the IP's given to you by your host.

Once you've done that click on "my domains" click the domain name then put in the new nameservers that you just added.

I have to register the domain name? Wait... that means I have to pay more money to get the same domain?

I registered at tosdomains.net

eddy2099

No, you do not need to pay more money. There should be an option to create the dns server entry based on your domain name. There you need to private the name server fully qualifying name + IP address. Then wait..and wait..

Jon FB

when I try to put my dns infomation says my domain name isnt registered with enom but when I go to tosdomains say it is.

You need to do everything at tosdomains, through your control panel there.

I said enom because tosdomains are a reseller for them, i assumed your domain was with enom directly.

There should be an option to register nameservers or register dns somewhere in your control panel at tosdomains.

Jon FB
09-04-2003, 02:05 PM
I already did that with TOSdomains.net

you go into the control panel you then go to

Add New Nameserver

Nameserver:
IP Address:

I did this the same day I got my welcome email. I did both of my NS that they gave me.

Jon FB
09-04-2003, 02:06 PM
also I went to check my nameservers and it says this

RESULTS:
Nameserver: ns1.vayssa.com
IP Address: 64.191.18.103
Registrar: enom
Created: 2003-08-30 00:22:59.0

ok, so you've registered the nameservers, you need to also point your domain to those nameservers (should be 2 btw) through another option in your control panel.

Jon FB

Loon

after that do I just put in my name servers? Then it will be directed to them?

Loon
09-04-2003, 02:24 PM
yes the ones you registered

ns1.vayssa.com
ns2.vayssa.com (i assume you named the other one ns2)

then that's all you need to do, but you'll have to wait 12-48 hours before it resolves.

Jon FB
09-04-2003, 02:32 PM
I have to wait some more *passes out*

Thanks for the help!
