carpman 08-14-2001, 05:02 AM I know this is not strictly webhosting related, but i have a website that i now longer need. It is a .co.uk and is for PC repairs which i do very little of now, i was thinking of leasing or selling it but i am not sure how to value it, any ideas.

Wassercrats 08-14-2001, 05:27 PM Just checked it out on ebay. You can go there directly with this link if you want to look at prices:

B-Broker 08-15-2001, 01:36 PM Greatdomains.com is a great marketplace for selling domains. They take a small commission (doesn't everybody?), but the service is superb. It's also widely and well known so you'll get the exposure you need, as well as a higher return on your domain. That is, if you can find a buyer.

Another great site. You'll get exposure on the Wall Street Journal site through BizBuySell. However, they have higher fees than most comparable sites. If you're selling a high-value domain, BizBuySell is great, but for smaller ones, you may try somebody else (your fees might be more than the value of the domain :D)
Hope this helps.

I'd be careful about eBay. I listed one of my domains there last year and it went for $500 - the only problem was that the person did not pay and completely ignored my attempts to contact them. Not good.... happening way too much now.
Also, eBay takes a percentage of the final price. I think it's 3% or something, they probably raised it.
Lonny 08-15-2001, 03:06 PM I know someone who sold a small site there for $50,000
all he had to do is to incooperate it.
