I am Shang, well I am still working on the story, I got it half done.

I have seen before some people imposing as me, as JoeShang2k, JoeShang, and some other Shang2k, Shang*.*(DOS) types. It was funny seeing people imposing me, but it was also harming me.

My story is nice and simple, but the ending is just something that has not ended yet.

I have made 32,000 in 3 months, could have made 36,000, but instabill did the right thing.

So I have any money you might ask? The answer is no. We have sent the money to instabill with a letter long enough to explain to Ahklehi, or whatever his name is, to return all the money. Profit was made? No. Have I lost money? Yes.. but I have only lost 12,000 dollars, but I tried not to spend the money that I have made from tacidblue. It was from 8,000 to 10,000, I haven't gotten to sit down and look at all of the fasthosts statement.

This is just for now, more to come.

Well... there were about 90+ reviews (most of it were singing fake praises) at Hostsearch.

And some of his other clients were actually existing clients buying multiple accounts. I had 3 accounts with him before (my clients opted for his hosting, while I developed their sites, because he offered hosting for a cheap price).

And... the power of the word of mouth...


btw, Shang was a sweet child at the beginning too. So we all got reeled in.

Shang had about 800-1,000 customers when he closed down. No lie.It might sound amazing to you.....but I had access to the FastHosts CP....and he had that many.

Yes I designed my own layout, background, and logo, well not the last logo, I think it was made my "Killa" or thirdwatch maybe, I can't remember. The rest the guys pics came from a security website, and well I thought it will look great. The rest was to Alex, my web designer.

I did all forms of advertising... well not that many first, but I got to register over 800,000 search engines, and other stuff, but never did real advertising. Was going to put a small banner in HostSearch, and I was like so close, but when I saw the thread in here, just made me stop.

I remember Skyshensky being my 15th customer, and she complaining about my DHTML and Framed layout I had first. I had to fix it all up thanks to her :) I loved talking to people, helping people on my boards with their problems, and well they loved me back. E-mails, phone, board, AIM, HumanClick, Digichat, they all loved me everywhere (I dunno about e-mail, I had once to delete 3,000+- messages because I couldn't respond to them all). I liked coming to my computer and seeing 10-30 new orders a day, and 100-200 new e-mails a day, and someone always waiting in HumanClick. Well I loved my customers, that was one, but FastHosts was my only problem facing me, and in June 6th, it got me.... and I never thought they would do this to me.

My friend Robert, Wes, and I wanted to start a company that would make popularity. Robert and I started with MicroComet.net and started doing some webdesigns, we really liked ticalc.org design because we were into programming calculators.
We decided to start a TI site and maybe beat ticalc.org competition like ticalc did to ti-files.org. We had to learn Perl, HTML, and little graphics design. I never went to school but got me a Burlee account and started playing with Notepad.
Then I gave up on doing that much work for the site, and was wondering how other people do it with their webapages and stuff, so we look at microsoft.com/2advanced.com/neostream.com and such sites to learn my Flash. And I got real good at it that I made and came up with the name TacidBlue( well actually Robert Came up with the name, that is about all he gets credit for) and started TAcidBlue.com and experimented with Flash. Wes and I studied day and night and tried to implement lots of stuff to FLash. Then we saw musicsheets.com or something like that or virtualmusicsheets.com and saw how they are making money from music sheets, and we started TacidBlue making music sheets and giving them out for free just to gain popularity.

Note: What I mean that I never went to school is that I never went to a Web class or anything like that. But in School I am #3 in my class :)

Might be another person. I do not know, there was 2 letters I got from Russia, once had a written letter with 2 pieces of Russian money, the other one had a Card with some nice painintg in fron with 5 pieces or so. I can't actually remember, but I always thought it was the same guy. If you did not send a card to me, you are the first one then, the envelope was thick paper, but I can't actually remember... I handled hundreds of customers a day. There was another guy who was from Russia too that sent in US dollars, but he sent $40 to host an e(something).com domain and another one... but one domain we couldn't get working because it was an .nz or .nu domain(can't remember) and it did not with FastHosts DNS.

I have no idea bout Tacidblue and all this.

However, Zentek is in Hong Kong and we've been here since 1998, and we are actively involved in the Webhosting/Dedicated Server scene and attend some of the "webhosting company meets" and related activities.

How come we haven't heard about this Hong Kong-based Shang person before?

Presumably he would have been in ONE of the mags... or at least he would have been mentioned at one of the meetings?!? :confused:

Personally I don't remember him at ALL ever being mentioned in the scene here in Hong Kong before.

I know 3 languages; mostly Spanish, then English. fluent in both langauges, but I have been studing Korean for 4 years now, just speaking it for now.

Now welll 800,000 search engine submission is my specialty, remember in my site I had 500,000+ submission to search engines? Now I am capable to submit to 1.6 million of them, (thidwatch please keep quite about this) and I was thinking in the back of my head starting a submission thing here, but ohh well.

Now I have been to Seul, South Korea and yes I am here in the USA - Texas.

I then started the layout we currently had and maybe you all know the TacidBlue layout, I made it with the background that I got the ball idea from ZDTV now known as TechTV. The logo was made simple from coolarchive.com with the Jungle font - then hand made by Fireworks :)
We started the calssical music site, we had well I made about 50 music sheets and just made about 200-300 bucks from it. The I started freaking out when I saw the bill on Burlee towards me, and started searching for a cheaper host, because I did not want to pay $45 extra just for my domain to be viewed without the "www" before the domain (look at burlee.com and look at the extras). Then I found hostyard.com and I was amazed a price so low for hosting. Got his hosting and continued with my sheet music selling adn expermienting with my layout with frames, and CSS and this experiments to it. Turned out that CSS, and some of my PNG files and Frames weren't good in NS and some IE so I went to my old layout. Then I stood out of the way from it and started playing Age of Empires I and II and started my own small clan for it in my site and came very popular people coming and learning new strategies and all, and with Hostyard I had PHP and mySQL, so something new to learn. Then a sudden idea came to me on reselling Hostyards hosting because their DNS was annonymous "ns.hostay.com" and nobody will never know. But first I had to ask Dylan in the boards if I can do this, and he said yes and masking hostyard hasn't been done before.

I think many people include ffa pages when talking about search engine submission. Maybe those 800,000 search engines include ffa pages also.

I use a program that I bought for 400 bucks for the unlimited submission license, so I can offer this to my customers, but I never got to do one because it was too much time consuming and on filling all the input fields and catergories.

This small program submits to major search engines and FFA sites too, and some other forgein sites. I never got to take the time to browse them all. When I submitted TacidBlue there was a record of 1.2 million and out of that only about 800,000 went sucessfully. Last time a check 3 week ago, it was about 1.6 million.

Dylan agreed to let me resell from him in his boards, so I started right away. I started by looking at other hosting companies on what they offered and such, like I started an FAQ like Burlee.com, started a board like Hostyard, started live customer support like apollohosting. Then I figured a price of $75/year of hosting for it, and the very next day I got 3 customers, and I was amazed at the rapid growth, and after a week I ended with 40-50 customers. Then I had to figure something out to make my payment processing easier because I used Paypal and Verza and it was very confusing that way. Then I foudn hosthem.com that offered services like hostyard but I liked they payment processing, instabill and started to use them from then on. Then I get compaints about other people having a very hard time viewing my site. I noticed with humanclick that many people had NS, and IE+, so not many people could support the 4 frames I had and the Flash, because it slows some people PC, and I do not want that. I wanted everyone to come and visit, so I went back to the old Tacidlayout and worked from then on until when Cyberseven comes in....

Then one time Dylan e-mailed me to stop using the 20% discount link and told me to delete the cookie. So I did and then he kept on e-mailing me about some corrections to my site, and he helped me a bit. And warned me about my transfer level, it was way over 8Gigs already in the first 2 weeks and I only used 2MB of space. I ignored it for a while, but I needed to make sometime no my site more enterntaining, like making my site show random items in the front page so they won't see the same damm thing all the time, and some other neat stuff. My main problem was the boards, because the way I moved from host to host.

I only advertised in Hostsearch.com and I used the program to promote TacidBlue to 800,000 sites. Thant is just about all I did.

Also there was a warez site called Pseudo warez that advertised me, because I gave him an Hostyard account. When pseudo went down their visitors came automaticly to me. A meta refresh tag did it.

I do not know, there was 2 letters I got from Russia, once had a written letter with 2 pieces of Russian money, the other one had a Card with some nice painintg in fron with 5 pieces or so. I can't actually remember, but I always thought it was the same guy.

I also tend to do that, when I do something I stop for a minute and swear to god I dreamt this exact same thing after the moment has ocurred. Something I believe this recollection I get it from what has happened 5 seconds ago then think I did that.

Many people want to read your story so they can reply with 2 sentence posts just to increase the post totals. A very good specimen of this method is 'SoftwareRevue' go back and count how many times he has said 'please continue with the story'.

Now this shang fellow, i reccomend stop posting, its over. Forget about it, whats done is done. Close the topic and put tacid to rest, take a holiday to tacid lake for some memories.

When I was with Hostyard, in their board is where I posted some of the questions I did not know that some of my customers asked me, so Dylan was there to help ;) . I was scared this came from Hostyard and so I had to find an alternate solution because Hostyard can right away close TacidBlue.com and leave me in the dust. Then I found "Busysites.net" and they had a reseller plan for $5 for an extra account.

Tacidhosting.com I opened it with Donhost reseller plan. I payed it yearly and moved my site to there, and made tacidblue.com redirect to tacidhosting.com.

Skipped another part, Lets go back with busysites.net, their reseller plan was for $5 an extra account, so sounded like a good deal. I got teh domain tacidhost.com from them, and little that I know back then they were fasthosts resellers until later on. So then I used tacidhost.com for a while and hosted it on NT servers. (fasthosts).
Then I already had like 100 people with busysites and about 50-70 with Hostyard and prices were at $60/year. I had trouble now handling all customers now, and was a little hard talking to all of them. Then I thought why not do what other host do? Charge monthly?
I then went with JaguarPC reselling adn started chargin monthly, and did about 20-40 accounts in that week with them, but actually I still put some in busysites and some in hostyard and I did put 3-5 in JaguarPC. Then switched back to my old stuff because people were getting confused about the plans.
Then I bought me vbulletin, Humanclick with up to 6 people (still wasn't enough) and tacidhost.net for my board hosted with JaguarPC. Then I had like about 500-600 customers so far without going with fasthosts yet. I was the most rated and reviewed host in hostsearch.com and they even sent me an e-mail telling me that their limit is 100 reviews, and asked me if it was ok for them to stop the reviews or let them delete the old ones.

Ok after this it gets confusing.... the good stuff comes in and is were stuff starts falling apart. I need ot think what went first. I am tryign to fit it all in pieces.
