View Full Version : Host Monitoring?
pgrote 08-13-2001, 05:26 PM Hello,
I recall seeing an email or two about a service that pings your site and sends you a report on when it was up or down.
Can someone shoot me the URL for this service?
Thanks!

Is the best one so far.

You'll need to do the following to start a *good* service like that:
1. Servers located on MAE-East and MAE-West (or within a few hops)
2. Servers, dedicated all the way, located with highly reputable company's (none like the one mentioned in my signature :D)
3. Monitoring software
4. Large bandwidth allotments on your server (if you're running a bigger site)
5. Time to test the service
More of these types of services are needed (and hosts should start offering free monitoring and stats for their customers).

Requirement 1 - no problem
Requirement 2 - no problem
Requirement 3 - Which software to get?
Requirement 4 - no problem
Requirement 5 - no problem
Do you recommend any good Monitoring software?

As aaent mentioned earlier, netsaint.org looks like a very detailed and efficient program for monitoring. Did I mention it's free?
Fremont Servers 08-15-2001, 11:20 PM Thank you, B-Broker.
