I've just been over to HiSpeed internet and it appears to have joined with us.net or something.

They did offer 'unlimited' hostign before, but check these prices out:

http://www.us.net/html/html/hosting/webhosting_unix_compare.shtml

$14.95 for 10Mb storage and 25Mb transfer!

Get this, $399.95 for 20Gb transfer.

Are their packages really worth this much?

hehe:

$14.95 per month (plus $40 setup fee)
The URL to your account will be http://yourname.us.net
10 MB storage space
25 MB data transfer per month
One e-mail account (POP3)

Not even a real domain too. Might as well get a Geocities address for that cost.

Yes.....and geocities cost nothing............

They must be preying on newbies who know nothing on internet bandwidth and charges for bandwidth.

Now that's a ploy!

I wonder how many will start a post on these forums asking if anybody knows about them? ;)

You can get the same thing at RAckshack for 20% of what they charge (+250 setup fee) with hell of a lot more bw.

There's lots of companies who host with say... PacBell who pay 10 or 15 times as much as they should. I asked one company why and they said they just though they were the major player. It seems like companies have different priorities. ...Nevertheless they were pretty happy when I told them that they could get more for much less with better reliability.
