this post is quite long , but here goes...

i run http://www.zeldalegends.net, and i signed up with PCISD's free 30 day trial at around april. There server's were pretty fast, there customer support was (and still is) great and there features were good for such a low price (500mb, 5 gigs , 200 subdomains/emails/ftps etc for $20 a month), so I went ahead and paid for a whole year's hosting, expecting i'd get what I paid for. I know it was pretty stupid of me, but i my parents won't let me use their credit card online, and it would've been a real hassle to nag them to write a check for me every month.

Anyway...things went fine for a few months, but then, suddenly, when i log on to ftp and try to upload, i get a 'no space left on device' message. The was over a month ago, and i haven't exceeded my 500 meg limit, so i messaged the customer support guy (whose always kept in the dark by his boss for some reason) and he didn't know, so i messaged the boss...and all he could say is "We are going to fix it".

well now over a month has passed...the problem is STILL here...and when i message the boss, he says, and i quote, "we are working on it". I wasn't too happy...so i asked for a refund...which i AM entitled to...after all, i paid for 500 mbs of space, and i'm only getting about 125 which is what is currently uploaded, but all he could say is "we are working on it", "we are working on it" and "we are working on it".

suddenly..after i quote some claim from his site, he suddenly messages me and says "Today is Labor day and im spending it with my family.
I taken the time to help you and put my family aside but if your going to be rude to me then I can not help you.
Im sorry if you are going to leave PCISD because the company is better than the average hosting company. Thanks for speaking with me" and simply logs off...even though our conversation hasn't ended...which is kind of like shutting the phone on my face...

points to note:
a) i was NEVER rude...i was being extremely calm, even though this problem was on for over a month...and he just goes off like that without warning...now THATS what i consider rude
b) if he was spending the day with his family...then what on god's green earth was he doing online in the first place? some way of spending time with his family

anyway...point is...if you're considering PCISD, scratch that off your list...right now i'm NOT getting what i paid for, and i doubt you will...and this guy is more than happy to ruin his company's fine reputation for a measly $140

PS: there customer support person, Justin, was the only shining star of the crew...way to go justin!

i've been notifed by emailed that someone(BC) replied...but when i visit it no one seems to have replied

something wrong?

Perhaps he deleted it.

As for your issue, changing a hard drive on a server is not the easiest thing in the world to do. Unless they have the right equipment, it is impossible to do without taking the server offline. I do not know the specifics of the problem you had and I do not know PCISD's side of the story.

Best regards,
Frank Rietta

i can understand that it is difficult...but i doubt that it is so difficult that it'd take over a month to do it

Sorry, yes I did reply, but then I deleted it, since I realised I had just put in a reply full of dribble and not much else.

Anyway, what I did want to say was :

1. I know PCISD occasionally hangs out here, so if they happen to be around they will most probably reply to your problem.

2. However, your post is part of a trend in other forums which have been critical of PCISD.

I do hope they fix whatever problems they have pretty quickly.

BC...the problem has been around over a month...i think they failed in solving it quickly already

and anyway...the PCISD person that hangs out here is Justin, whom i've congratulated...i doubt we'll hear from the man who runs the show at PCISD

I almost forgot that I signed up with them before burst. Service seemed fine but there was a few things that happened during the 30 days that made me look elsewhere.

i complain...and look at the result...go to my site http://www.zeldalegends.net and see...
or if your too lazy to go...my sites been deleted...my hosted sites won't be too happy about this...my forums will be reset to 0, i will start to lose hits soon...and it'll take me at least 2 days to reupload...is there anyway i can officially complain about PCISD?

Never do business with them again, and make a point of warning all the people you come into contact with to steer clear of them. That's the worst punishment you can dish out to any company short of suing them. Hits them right where it hurts.

yes..i plan to do that

Same same. I sent them emails with some questions, and the replies were basically try us because we have the 30 day "free" trial --and you just can't go wrong!

Something about that attitude just didn't sit right with me. Maybe other people are ok with it, I wasn't. I do remember replies from Justin that were friendly, and a few from Derrik that were short toned.

I didn't go with them, and I'm still happy where I landed.

Well, you could try dropping them an email like this:

Dear Sir/Madam,

With regard to the outstanding refund owed to me by your company, I have now reached the limit of my patience. I must insist upon confirmation that a refund has been made within 2 working days or I shall bring the matter to the attention of my credit card company. As you may know they are quite able to make a chargeback against you - this will result in them not only recovering my money but levying further charges against you too. Furthermore I will seek legal advice on the whole matter.

Regards,
Etc etc

I find this one works pretty well since your CC company WILL make a chargeback and the company WILL get clobbered with a hefty additional charge.

Speedie.

problem is i paid by check :(

how about if i file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org)

can they do anything to help me?

tk

The BBB is more public relations (doesn't hurt to file a report with them, and they will contact the business to get "their side of the story"), but you might get better results contacting the District Attorney.

I just did a search for PCISD to see if they were on this forum now. Apparently they are now being sued.

PCISD are being sued? Wouldn't surprise me, I used to have an account with them, they were great untill they got sold, then everything went downhill and fast. Where did you hear this information? I think PCISD used to go by that exact name if i am not mistaken. Some of the old owners still hang around these boards if I am not mistaken. I wonder if they can shed some light on this?

They weren't sued. They simple merged with another company. I had a lot of bad experience with them. I heard they were being sued in a review from Host Search. Apparently PCISD charged this person $6000 on their credit card.

$6000? Damn. I'd be beyond pissed.

PCISD is the worst. Their downtime is ridiculous, days can go by without being able to log into your account and you still won't hear anything...they still owe me a refund as well for telling me I'd have 2 months free for all of the downtime and then they charged my card for them. Then I had no intention of staying with them after my 3 months had finished and they charged my credit card 2 weeks early for another 3 months so I was forced to stay with them another 3 months.

Had pretty much the exact same experiences. I had multiple accounts with them. Some I cancelled before the free trial was even up and they charged my credit card for 3 months of hosting. What's with that. I was so happy to see them get sued. They owe me hundreds of dollars I know I'll never see. This is the worst hosting company ever! No other reviews or anything can even compare to how bad PCISD is. If you go to hostsearch.com you can read over 20 reviews on them. All are rated 1

I had an account with them when I was first starting out for a webmaster resource site. The original deal was that I would receive the account for free in exchange for advertising (this was a while ago, before I got into web hosting myself). They setup my account and then purchased a domain for me. Everything was fine until they merged with Broadreach -- then they told me that the deal was no longer valid. That was fine, since by that time I was just about ready to start up a web hosting company myself.

I simply moved the site to our server. No problems, until the domain was about to expire, and I transferred it to dotster to get a lower price than Network Solutions. A couple months later, I received an email from dotster telling me that Derrick had put the domain name in dispute, and that it would be transferred to him shortly. I sent over screenshots of the ICQ conversations that we had, but since they registered the domain name for me originally in their name that was not good enough. I emailed Derrick, and he basically denied that he ever had the conversations with me. Anyway, since I was not making money off the site anyway I decided not to go through the trouble of a domain name dispute, so now they have the domain - www.etips.net - pointing at one of Derrick's sites. In any event, I would not recommend going with them - not because they are competition, but because of personal experience.

I know. I'm not one bit surprised. Derrick is nothing but an absolute theif. Spoke with him many times and all he does is con people. I would love to see this guys go out of business. They so diserve it.

PCISD, as my signature says, is another one of my former hosts. I'm glad I can place emphasis on the former as they were truly the bottom of the bucket in the hosts category. The only highlight, as pointed out by another poster, was Justin's superb customer service eventhough the majority of my time with PCISD was before he came along.

They still owe me 3 months worth of hosting (since they wouldn't give me a refund for the amount I prepaid after I left) which they never let me claim but oh well.

[Err... ignore that signature part. Just realized I changed it. It used to highlight all of my former hosts (PCISD, SmartHosting, IWZ, CommuniTech, SimpleNet, and WebCom) and my current one (Site5)]

I would have to agree that Justin was extremely helpfull. However the rest of the team just made excuses and brushed things off like they never happened and it was jut my imagination. They even had the decency to send out a mass email to there customers explaining my problem, and made me look like an idiot.

Man, that totally sucks. That's why I always buy everything on my mom's credit card. If a company messes me up, we simply do a chargeback. We don't have to pay, and they have to pay fees. However, this should be the LAST RESORT after you have tried and tried, that is the last resort. What's going on with them now? Man, they SUCK.

I'll make a whole entire database of just PCISD customer complants. I should only need about 4 dedicated servers and 150GB of space ;)
