I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions a decent method for monitoring transfer/bandwidth used on a Windows 2000 server. Namely, what I really need is a way to monitor transfer used on a per IP basis, where one NIC card would be assigned multiple IP addresses. Is this somehow possible?

I know that I've seen MRTG mentioned several times, but I get the idea that it would not allow for a distinction between the different aliased IP addresses, anyone know for sure?

What I'm doing is co-locating a personal windows server and a friend of mine would like to run a private clan match CounterStrike server for about 2 hours a week. I have nothing against this, I just need to know how much bandwidth he uses (to charge him something accordingly) and therefore was thinking of giving him a dedicated IP address and somehow getting transfer info off it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Im fairly sure the windows "Network Monitor" does this job perfectly, look in the windows help for notes on its installation.

If you would prefer a comercial version then you could pay a small sum to go out and buy "CommView", a demo can be downloaded from http://www.download.com - there are many others too
