I've done most of my homework, and am ready to start up as a reseller.
However, I'm having a hard time thinking of or finding a suitable name and matching domain for my soon-to-be-company.
How important is the name?
I know enough to avoid buying anything that contains a hyphen, starts with a number, infringes on the trademark of a corporation with many lawyers, or is overly cute. Are there any other pitfalls to avoid?
Or even better, suggestions on how to go about selecting a name?
Thanks.

How about 2-Microsoft-teddybear? :D
Seriously...choosing a name is a very hard process that requires time and brainstorming.

jihosting.com
or any combination of 2 letters and the word hosting.... Most of the words where you can think of is already taken... I suggest dihost.com :) (sarcasism)

Nameboy is good. :)
You can also try Godaddy's and Netsol's name suggest fuction.
In addition, visit whois.net and look through the expired domains. Sometimes, you can find a good one. :)

Them expired names can be kinda spooky though
Like; why are they expired??
Most are more likely because of the service, rather than the name, I would hope.

Hehe, well there could be a number of reasons the names expired. Due to non-renewal of domain names, owner completely forgetting about the domain name, business going into solvency etc. and much more. Doesn't always have to be due to something bad. :) Sometimes, you can pick up a gem or 2 of a domain name. :D
