Oh well i guess it didn't spread this way, i'm about 10 minutes from south east london, and didn't even know it had happened till i read this post lol, although my house is in that area, trying to think if anything would have broke if the power was off for an hour.

Just hope the cat wasn't watching tv or anything :)

Its the power eating aliens from Jupiter who is disrupting the supply. We in India have them from hundreds of years. The power company simply blames it on transmission loss and theft. Its them power eating aliens. They live in power distribution transformers, in generating stations, in my UPS, in my power metre, most times they will be running up and down the power cables outside my house and jumping on tree branches usually when it rains. During thunderstorms its feast time for them aliens. The mother ship arrives from the blue and deposits millions of power hungry aliens on the earth.
