If you use the API, you'll have to fund the account and domains you sell will come out of that account. With the profits, you can refund the account as needed.

You'll need a processor to process the payments, secure cert., etc. A long time ago, I was looking into using the API with Enom's processing services, but I can't recall if it was possible (I seem to recall it was possible, but it's not a normal thing to do). You should plan on processing the transactions, as that's the norm, and quite possibly the only way to do it.
