Yep!

I've been with them for 6 months (reseller account), and I can say nothing but good things about them :)

I've said this several times before:

Great servers, great support, great uptime :gthumb:

okay, i was with hostmatix about 6 months ago - was a client with them for 8 months.

Initially they seemed good and service wasnt bad. Then things started to happen:

1. Service became very unreliable and slow - tickets were not answered on time. Their live support is a joke as is their support system.

2. I had a nasty time trying to get a hold of anyone when my site (and clients) was down. I'd leave messages and if they got back to me it would be a day or two later - quite frustrating to say the least.

3. One of my client's account on WMH just "disappeared" This probably happened when they moved servers - but i called the guy up and he said "hmm. that's strange indeed" (u think??!!!)

Then he said there was no trace of my account ever existing! Well weeks later and he never got back to me with an explanation. I called him up asking again and thats when he told me they probably lost it in the move.

4. At this point ure probably wondering that I am an idiot if i stay with him. Well, seeing as I was still researching other companies, I had to stay a while longer.

5. I have never come across such a RUDE person - I mean the way this guy speaks to customers is deplorable.

Check this out. They switched from paysystems to modernbill. Now they sent out a notice to their clients saying that clients have to create a new account in modernbill and enter cc info etc.

Well, since we were planning to move the next month - I did not. I still paid through paysystems though (since i got billed for the month i eventually moved in).

Now i call up hostmatix and tell the guy i need the domain name info for one of my clients since i had to point him to our new nameservers (reason being that the guy who runs HM also runs domainciti.com - where I referred my client to register his domain name earlier). Now HM first agrees to give me info. Then he realizes im shifting - says he cant do it - according to him I HAVE TO REGISTER WITH THEIR HOSTMATIX SUPPORT DESK - MEANING MODERNBILL AND GET CHARGED FOR ! MONTHS HOSTING. I was like WTF??

So I payed already through paysystems for that month - and this guy wants to rip me off and make me pay again just to get the domain name info - which he was ready to give earlier (oh and by the way - this domain that my client registered through domainciti - magicaly became unregistered a few days later?! So thats why the problem arose since Hostmatix went in and re-registered it under their name!

Well, the way he spoke to me - a customer - was indeed sad. I do not see how this company will be in business for that long with the attitude they have. My client did call himself later and got the domain name account info - after I hung up with HM threatening I'd call the police on them! Plus me and my client had proof of the domain name registration and visa transaction etc.

To top all this off, I stumbled across my testimonial on their site weeks later - saying how good their service was blah blah blah - AND I NEVER EVEN GAVE THEM ONE!!!!!!!

I was like man this takes the cake! Needless to say one of my staff (who is also a lawyer) sent him a notice to remove it or else face legal action. It was removed shortly thereafter.

Do a search on hostmatix here - you will see more negative than positive reviews. This is my experience with them . My recommendation to you is: A BIG THUMBS DOWN. Do not risk your business with hostmatix or rather chopmatix.

I'm sorry you had multiple problems with them. I've heard they had some issues at the very beginning.

You say you left them about 6 months ago. Well, I've been with HostMatix for 6 months and I'm quite happy with them and I can even say that they are improving their service every day that pass by.

Ouch. The best thing to do when a customer moves on, is maintain your professionalism and treat them as you would want to be treated.

When one offers reseller accounts, one should realize that many of your clients will eventually become succesfull enought to get their own dedicated server and that point they will move on. When that time comes, treat them just as you would want to be treated.

Goodness.

Kind Regards,
-Darrell

I currently have a standard account with hostmatix and although the uptime has been better since there data centre move today was very bad... they were dos attacked and went down for about 12 hours!!!

Do i demand my months free, shouldnt they have backup servers so they could still run the sites if need b?

Ben

Oh and since the move from paysystems to modernbill i havnt been able to login! great i know!!

i knew it wasnt just me who was having a time from hell from these guys. And yes you should get 1 months free hosting - although we were promised that as well hen they went down for about 12-14 hours once - but i never did see it ofcourse.

honestly ben i would just move to a more reliable reseller account - esp in the early stages while you try and carve out a good rep for yourself - you dont need this crap from these kind of fly by night operations. I did lose two clients while with them - and one of them of course was the one whos account just vanished! And they had the nerve to say it never existed to me - am i some kind of freak calling them up and asking for imaginary accounts - honestly how some businesses stay afloat like this is beyond me - esp in today's competitive marketplace

ndxb, I have been with HM for over a year now, I went through some difficulties, which were elimited after their move to a new data center, as well as the process of updating their accounting system.

And I can tell you for sure that customers who properly and in time (you have almost 2 months) updated their information, never saw any trouble. I know a few customers who thought it wasn't important, even though it was mentioned numerous times everywhere and thus didn't update their information on time, of course experienced minor troubles with their accounts.

By the way, you're a little exaggerating - HM gave everyone a free month for their previous downtown and it was used.

In regard of your accounting issues, all you had to do is tell them that you just payed through PaySystems and ask them not to charge you when you update your information and your CC with modernbill. I really don't know what the big trouble was to do just that. All it takes is a little good communication.

Oh, and by the way, saying that the person you talked to was rude IS rude and untrue. Ask any of their thousands of clients and they will state different.

Hope you and your business is doing well today, Good luck,

Andrew

Artashes, unless you were the person he was speaking to (making you an employee of Hostmatix), how are you to determine who was rude to him and who wasn't?

well, to each his own - my experience with HM was bad - and the person was indeed rude.

Ahh the 1 month free hosting from when they had the "core router failure"

Now that sucked...at that time the #'s they had posted on their website weren't even in service...Haven't been with them since march, and I am quite happy with that. Their name used to be ***'ed out...but since their biggest promoted became a mod, it seems that got changed...

Bad thing is when I first got them, I had good service, I had a couple friends join up, then when the downtime started, my friends got pissed at me...
