View Full Version : godaddy + Namecheap interface

I planning to move domains from gandi to either godaddy or Namecheap.

A feature I like about gandi is having all domains linked to a gandi ID linked together, like if you are either the technical or billing contact, but not necessarily the admin contact, you would have all these domains listed together, along with domains I own, as easy administration for whatever power you had with each domain.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has multiple domains with godaddy or Namecheap, if they offer an interface enabling me to have easy access to multiple domains that I'm the tech or billing contact for, and the owner/admin contact is someone else (along with ones I'm admin contact for).

Namecheap has probably the best interface of all.

So far, namecheap has the easiest, fastest interface for handling multiple domains.

Only thing I wish they had was the auth code together with the domain for biz, us etc. asking for each one is a real time consuming pain.

Thanks for these replies. I've read a lot of praise for Namecheap here, but could not find specifically if you're only the tech contact for some domains, do you have one interface that includes them with the ones you are the admin contact for. Looking for this info for either namecheap or godaddy.

True, GoDaddy has the EPP code very handy :D

timechange - What is an EPP code?

I have used GoDaddy's interface when trying to help friends register personalized name servers or change DNS name server settings, it's not that organized or appealing to look at.

NameCheap.com on the other hand (who I have 24 domains registered with) has a better interface and usually fast propogation.

Can anyone answer the question that started this thread?

I have three domains with GoDaddy, easy administration for all if you ask me. You can make changes to one that will reflect in all if you need to also.

LOL

GoDaddy *was* the best in 2000/2001/most part of 2002. They just screwed up too many times in 2003.

godaddy sux. Well support anyway. How much support do you really need for domain names anyway? I mean, what could go wrong that is so hard to fix? It's not like a coding problem or anything... and I thought they'd have it down packed after 3 years.

If you ask them the question that started this thread, they probably wouldn't be bothered answering...

Godaddy is all right by me. I seem to only go with godaddy and no one else...40+ domains this year.

I think the opinion express here is each to there own based on experience with the registrar.

Take a look at RegisterFLY (http://www.RegisterFLY.com) before you make a final decision. They have a Great user Interface, 24x7 Live Support, and are always running discount promotions (ie. $5.99 domains, Renewals $7.99 domains, Transfers, etc.. etc..)

Yes, I've had multiple domains at NameCheap, Godaddy, and StarGateInc. and have since moved ALL my Domains to RegisterFLY.

I moved all my Domains to RegisterFLY to have them all in one place (Easier to Manage). I have not had any problems with the three above providers, it's just that I like the RegisterFLY control panel the best.

While RegisterFLY does have 24x7 Live chat & Support, I have found it to be "Average" at times. Depending upon the time of day, it's sometimes difficult to find somebody that speaks and comprehends English. On the occasions I've had to take a situation beyond support and to the executive team, it has always been resolved correctly very quickly.

Each to their own... I use and recommend RegisterFLY myself.

I only advise against NetworkSolutions/Verisign and then only because of Price.
