Hello
I just got my first server. I think I can figure most of it out. But I am stuck on how to set up the DNS and name server for my domain.

I have registered a new domain name to use only for name server and give to clients.

Right now the domain name server are still set to the registrar.

What I've done so far:
I've set up my server hostname to host.domain.net

I have the following DNS Zone set up:

domain.net
localhost.zone
mail
ns1.domain.net

See the attached file to see the set up.
Is it right/wrong?
Can I now just change the registrar parked name server to ns1.domain.net ?

I am using RH9 w/ cPanel.

How about you try traceroute the name server from another location and see if it comes up with the ip you are using for it..


We dont actually do it that way though.
