No, ns1 does not have to have the ip of the raq.

MyDomain is a pretty kewl BUT SLOW service and at times it can take over a week just to point a domain at a new IP.
I use MyDomain at the moment and find it pretty easy to use,
1. Point your domain name to the following DNS servers, this can be done by either manualy changing the entry the people who registered the domain have, or asking them to change it.
NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM
NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM
2. Then enter your MyDomain control panel and set up the new domain name.
3. Choose to use the MyDNS service and choose IP forwarding, and enter the IP to your RAQ server. If your using NAME based hosting then ensure you have a record for the new domain on your RAQ.
4. Choose Save.
Thats it all done, you may want to add an MX record which is pretty easy to do so if you get stuck then just ask in here and I am sure someone will help you.
I will be using my own DNS servers soon as TBH although the MyDomain service is *FREE* it just does not cut it for those who want fast service.
My last DNS changes took over a week and a half to take place.
Thanks
