I did a search here on Hostiva (I just signed up with them). I have seen some posts mention their 'long-term contracts'. When I signed up it stated "This is a recurring transaction. Your account will be charged every 30 days 10.95 USD.".
Any other customers that have been billed by them mind letting me know if it's monthly or longer?

This is a pretty standard policy in web hosting and with ISP's...
To make sure you have no interruption of service they'll automatically re-bill you for the next month unless you cancel...
Nothing out of the ordinary by any means...

No, I understand that. I may have not been clear enough in my original post. I have seen some people comment on how they were billed yearly, not monthly (or maybe I misunderstood them). Being billed monthly is what I assumed I signed up for. I just don't want to all of sudden see a years worth of hosting charges on my cc.

I haven't used Hostiva but it they might have you locked into a year contract but only charge you on a monthly basis. In this case, they most likely charge a (large) cancellation fee if you want to get out early.

I think you overlook that for VH500 plan/package which you sign-up, they bill you monthly.
For the other hosting plans, billing are as follows:
VH100 = annually
VH200 = semi-annually
VH300 = quarterly
VH400 = quarterly
Please read again their plans/packages on their site.
What you heard about annual recurring billing in the other threads about them was for the VH100 plan/package. As a reseller for them, you need at least a VH100(annual billing) account to be eligible for reseller status.

Thanks, you're right I didn't read it carefully enough. I signed up for the VH500
