why do i feel most companies website look the same these days?

almost same colors
almost same botton style if colors are different

is what i see is all buying from one template store? or they tend to use the same software/filters which are new to the market?

Well templates are much cheaper than it would be to hire a designer to develop a unique website.

I agree.. people tend to stick to a more approved look and don't dive in to their creativity as much these days.

It is pretty disappointing, mainly because you often come across websites that look near identical to each other. It sort of dries up what makes the internet what it should be, or could be in the words of w3.

Yep, Thats why acid-host is diffrent from all others, instead of one from m-o-n-s-t-e-r-t-e-m-p-l-a-t-e-s with a flash header and flashy pages.

We are getting ours redesigned in about a week or so. The current version looks sweet still, but I just want something different looking.

Yeah, I do agree that most hosting sites looks very similar probably they purchased it from some template designer but I am very fortunate that I can design my own site and do as I wish.

My advised is... visualize what and how you want your site to look and write it down on paper with sketches/drawings if possible and then discussed with your designer. The more details/info you provide them, the better your site would look with the finished product/design.

@Acid-Host.co, pretty clean, but it doesn't make me very enthused. And I do prefer pure html/css layouts to flash.

@Cactus: Yours seems to be a little amatuerish, and I personally do not like it, it has this inexperienced essence to it. Plus you use flash animation, which is a big no no for content.

Same look, same content... The internet is becoming filled with affiliate programs from hell. I see Template monster on every single design site almost.. Its insane...

Yeah, I agree. I am a very logical person myself and when trying to do something creative like a layout I do struggle.

Thats why you should hire a designer to make one for you. Just like you wouldnt build your own television, but you'd buy one from the store.

Well, I think that is what he is saying. It is easy to get high quality designs from Template monster. And they are high quality.

I have the same problem. I can do all the tech aspects, and even some graphic design. But it takes me 2 days to make what it takes a designer 10 mins. I have to put it down delete it, put it down delete it. Then I get frustrated and give up. I know exactly what I want in my head but it never comes out right.
