I'm surprised when I talk to other developers and they haven't heard of HTML-kit.

Do yourself a favor and check it out:
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/

From their site:
"HTML-Kit is a full-featured text editor designed to help HTML, XML and script authors to edit, format, lookup help, validate, preview and publish web pages. Newcomers to HTML coding can benefit from letting it point out errors and suggest improvements. Experts can save time spent on common tasks using the customizable and extendible editor while maintaining full control over the code."

HTML-KIT is a great procduct and love the source highlighting (i code in html php and javascript on the same page so without the excellent highlighting my work would be a mess...

but... html-kit hogs resources... i can hardly run photoshop and html-kit at the same time on my 128MB RAM comp...

BTW: switch from notepad/textpad to HTML-KIT, it rules

I personally use Edit Plus (www.editplus.com) and I'm very happy with it. Fast, lot of usefull features, and fully customisable. Don't forget to download the auto-completions files...

In the same style you can try UltraEdit (www.ultraedit.com), another very good product

Hope it helps

I use Hot Dog Pro (http://www.sausagetools.com/). I really like it. Right now it supports HTML, CSS, ASP, VBScript, and JavaScript with PHP support coming out when they get done with their 6.5 beta. Also they are planning on supporting more languages like Perl and other ones when they come out with 7.0 but that won't be for a year or so :(
