Has anyone else been getting more spam then usual in the last week? It seems that I am getting one an hour, when I usually get no more then one a day. Also for the first time I got that one about me having 15000000 or however million 0's are after it. one or two a day does not bother me, 15 to 20 a day on my personal email starts to get on my nerves.

I dont know how the heck they are doing it, but it's amazing. We have a doamin, wzgroup.net that we have never really used, and have NEVER used it for any kind of emails, never set any emails up on it. Today I decided to log into it and check it's default email, and loe and behold, there were about 100 spam mails there sent to just about anything @wzgroup.net!
I dont know, I think now they are just spamming domains and putting whatever they can think of before the @ sign. And of course, you know they are all legitimate "Opt-In" lists...LOL. Geez it's getting so bad you cant even setup a NEW & UNKNOWN pop email without recieving several spams the very next day to it!

You know what really pisses me off, is when they put that part on the bottom saying in section x blah blah blah, we have the right to send you this email.

I haven't gotten any more spam than usual this week, but I *have* gotten 10 or 15 hosting-related direct mail pieces, much more than I usually get.

I think i have a solution, setup a domain ONE/TWO months before you plan on using it, dont detup any mail on the domain, dont setup anything at all, leave it dormant for a couple of months, this way all the lists you get auto subscribed to when you first register a domain (yes thats how they track you) all time out with mail failure errors, you then get removed from the list because bounced mail slows down their mail delivery, they try and remove bouncers after 10-20 failed tries, voilla you are removed from nearly all mail lists, now just be careful who you give your e-mail/domain name to !!!

Spam is increasing. What amazes me is that I'm getting more and more spam that lists legitimate domain-name URLs in the spam (as opposed to an Angelfire address or an IP number). I very rarely see websites get shut down for spamming.
I just purchased my second SpamCop (http://www.spamcop.com) account earlier today. Works like a charm.

we are safe. but we are getting lots of hits from many servers and we have to block 100's of ips. i think that is CODE RED.

Bounced email doesn't stop the spammers. My old NSI contact address bounced for over a year. I turned it back on and immediately got about 5 spams a day that otherwise would have bounced as "User Unknown".

I have not had that much more spam but what I have found I have been gettting alot more of is
(a) Ones that actually say here is the infromation that I signed up for and if I wish to be taken off the list please click here. They are starting to take time in writing these things (ofcourse do not click the removal link as all it will do is confirm to them that someone is reading it and you spam will dramatically increase)
(b) The sender is me from a different service. I have an account at one free service and I have been getting alot of spam from other free services that have my userid at that service.

I'm getting some 8-10 spams daily (since months ago), it seem they're mostly from free email services.
