Anybody colocating with RackMy.com

Their setup and labour charges seem good.

I note they charge for bandwidth both ways - isn't that a bit unusual?

Any good/bad experiences?

This is my first colocation attempt and as I am in Europe, where it's "impossible" to colocate I don't want to end up with a nightmare.

I have a dedicated server (W2000) for a month and the experience has been good including for support. The deal was for a non standard server and involved some extra work.

The bandwidth allocation is low but in my case, thats not much of an issue so far because most of the sites hosted/being hosted are low traffic corporate sites.

It may however work out expensive for people who need huge bandwidth.

Apart from *****, I don't know any hosting company which doesn't charge for bandwidth both download and upload.

why should it be impossible to colo in europe? depending on where you live, there are many idc's to choose from, some even cheaper then in the us and more reliable...

if you are living in europe and don't expect the major part of users originating from the us, i would definately go for an idc from europe.

RackMy.com is located at the Inflow facility in st louis. Inflow guarantees 100% uptime, and you pay for it, which is probably why you pay for both inward and outward bound traffic. Inflow is a superior data center and everything is redundant...even the fiber and power entrances.

why I say it's "impossible" to co-locate here in Switzerland, is because of the crazy costs. My ISP wants SFR326 (that's about USD200) a month just for a single IP - and that's just the IP, I never got so far as to ask for other costs :)

Oh well I guess it's possible - if you are crazy!

Now, I think that is the most expensive IP I have every seen!

I have my server colo with RackMy. Nothing but good things to say. I don't host anybody else's sites but my own right now so my bandwidth cost is minimal. Have not had any problems as far as connection speed or downtime. First class support all the way.
