Did you actually start the RealServer after installing it?
Did you remember to copy in the license file?
I would like to have real server on my RAQ too, could anyone tell me where I can download it? Thanks!!

http://www.real.com/
Their site is overly complex, and they delibrately try to hide all the free (Basic) versions -- but you should be able to find it.
domus 08-12-2001, 01:23 PM yes i run it after the configuration of server
and yes i copied the .lic file and evrything with instalation went ok
no errors where reported only i cant access the admin area ....
maybe i downloaded wrong version
if anyone has instaled it on raq can he tell me what version he installed ??
thnx

If you can start the instalation and server starts okay, you've got the right version.
On the RaQ3/RaQ/RaQXtR it's the Linux i386 version you want.
I've installed a working version of realserver. I'm interested to know how to create a secure folder :smash: for virtual hosts that I can give access to upload their real files (without compromising the security of the server or other virtual host files)
Has anyone set up real for virtual site access?
Thanks
JapAniManga.ch 08-15-2001, 06:11 AM Hi,
you can get the free Server at http://proforma.real.com/rn/servers/univdwnld/index.html?ulf=bas&src=010709realhome_1,homeintl_de,rnhmpg_080301,rnhmsi,dlvrit,srvrbsc_011901 !
Dont forget to install the License (direct Download from Server - not Mail to Server) and then start the Real-Server. Attention: When you restart the Server you need to start again the RealServer.
For Admin-Panel: http://.....:..../admin/index.hml (or something like this, I have the URL only at Home). When you want I can give you in around 10 Hours the URL how you can install the RealServer, there you can find all what you need to know.
domus 08-17-2001, 03:32 AM thx
JapAniManga.ch 08-17-2001, 05:08 PM Hi,
here is the URL for the Installation-Instruction, its very good made, also a Linux-Newbie (like Me *g*) should can install with this a RealServer: http://www.expressresponse.com/cgi-bin/progsnp/real_sts/srchjnnp?search_type=vdocument&search_input=TEH001.html&session_id=993999028.2884.5&search_form=web&search_erproduct=RealSystemServer8%5f0Basic

hmm... ok this is not the best solution but restart the server and the realserver is not running (arg... should still make a script that the realserver will be restartet automatic after a server restart) !
domus 08-18-2001, 11:00 AM but i think my method is more easied
ps and
you should see rmserver
and then
kill (PID)
it's works :)
and no server needs to be restarted :)
I would like to give real access to the virtual clients I set up however I do not want to give them access the /home - the default location of my real files.
Any ideas?
pgowder 09-18-2001, 09:19 PM I was just looking at the load on my server and using top there are over 10 entries saying:
root 0 0 30816 27M 9584 S 0 0.0 11.0 0:01 rmserver
