I’ve been there about 6 weeks, it took them about four to incorrectly set the environment and it still does not work well which almost took us out of business. I now want to find a host with good tech support that have some system admins that know anything about servers, then I'll move. I doubt I'll get the refund and may have to dispute the charges with Visa.

Good luck with that. You're absolutely right, you'll never get ***** to issue a refund for anything. (And I mean ANYTHING...they once billed me $1,020 for absolutely NO reason and NEVER issued a credit...how sad is that?)

I'm going through the chargeback process for that charge right now...What a disaster...

If only people KNEW the TRUE ***** before they signed up...

$1020, thats a hell lotta money. Of course they must have given you some reason to charge that ??? Did you try the live chat hosted by Faulkner (its not me, I just read in the web hosting megazine) every Thursday at 5.00 PM CST to enquire about those charges.

This guy (Faulkner) is a joke. I tried to get on the chat with him but it impossible; I think he is not even there. They have a system where if you do not get satisfactory service (you never do) you can escalate the service ticket to him - so what! nothing gets done any better and/or faster after he supposedly got it which makes me think he does not read it at all (how can he? he probably get so many of them a day because his people CANNOT handle anything).

I couldn't agree more CIRefugee! Their ticket system just outright SUCKS and when you 'escalate' a ticket you're really just throwing it into a bottomless pit...

As far as the $1,020 charge, m6.net, they claim it was for 'bandwidth' but NEVER told me what domain/server or ANYTHING!

Time to bring on the chargebacks...

Nice Company... allowed your site to generate that much worth of data transfer, without informing you in advance and then charge you card straight away.

I checked their terms and found they charge $10 per GB (which itself is too much) for extra bandwidth (while they offer unlimited bandwidth).

Just curious $1020 = 102 GB (as per *****'s rate for extra bandwidth). Can you tell us your site address, which is so popular? Just kidding :stickout All the best with your charge back thing.

If I recall correctly, InterMedia is the same company as DigEx.

You've got to be kidding!! About a year and a half ago we signed on with onepine after seeing an ad in a computer magazine. They did the old bait and switch thing with us. The offer was to host a certain number of domains for a certain price. However, my cc was charged a larger price for hosting only one domain. After contacting Richard of onepine, I found the ad to be a gimmick. We, unfortunately, registered our domain through onepine. He had listed us as registrant, but himself as admin, tech, and billing. We could not change the dns info because it was in his account at Dotster. He refused to give us access or to change the dns, but did offer to sell us forwarding from his server to the new host...otherwise, he said, we would have to contact a registrar. Dotster, via email, would only tell us to ask onepine for help. Catch-22. Finally, I got a real person, Toni, to answer the phone at Dotster. I explained the situation and Dotster changed the dns info, but left it in his account. A couple of hours later, Richard Northrop changed the info back to his own server and sent Dotster a snotty email about accessing his account. Finally, after much paperwork and faxxing, Dotster took the domain away from him and put it in our own account.

Sheesh. You've got to be kidding!! Onepine, astrospace, and besthost1 are the companies that spurred us on to start offering hosting ourselves. They showed us all the things a webhost should not be.

If you want to know how ***** got this big then this is how they did it.

You sign up with ***** and if you don't call them or use little resources then they will only bill you once. You start drooling thinking you are getting something for nothing and you start telling your friends to sign up too. The catch is when you call them for help or your site actually starts getting traffic then they will back bill you. You start screaming and yelling but since you already have your site setup with them then you don't want the additional hassle of switching so you stay and pay the bill.

That's all you got to do.
