View Full Version : My Morning Car Story

So yesterday my dad drove my car to work (30 minutes away).

Im down at the fair and I get a phone call around 6 pm from my mother saying my dad couldn't get the remote to unlock my car. So he is getting a ride home from someone else.

So feeling guilty, my mom and dad go out to RadioShack to buy a new battery for it. Yay.

So this morning I have to go with him to work so I can drive my own car back. But when I get there the remote still doesn't work. And worse off the alarm LED isn't flashing. So I look in and find out my dad has left the headlights on. No wonder the alarm wouldn't unlock the doors and chirp, he killed the battery.

So I unlock the door with the key, and we jump the car. So then I get out of the car, leaving the door open, and start to put the jumper cables away, when my dad walks by and closes the damn door!! And my alarm locks the doors while the car is running.

So there we are at 7am, standing beside locked and running car sticking a stick through the 1inch opening in the window (at least he left the window down enough yesterday), trying to press the window "roll down" button.

GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

I guess that's one less father's day gift you will have to buy next year.

It was not amusing standing there with a stick (that we found lying in the parking lot) trying for 15 minutes to reach the power window button :)

We tried a coat-hanger through the crack in the window but it it was too 'slippery' and wouldn't hook onto the door unlock, and it couldn't push down the power window button.

But in the end, the stick saved us.

At least by the end of the adventure the battery was nearly charged :)
