I like the service of both domainbank.com and dotster.com. Domain Bank is more expensive, but they are very easy to contact by both e-mail and their 800 number. Dotster is very reasonably priced. I have had to wait two days to get a response to an e-mail, but overall their service is great.

Best regards,

I'm using Dotster, RegistrarsAsia, and 000domains and I like all of them. I have changed my nameserver twice with Dotster. The first one took about 2-3 days and the second one, which was 4 days ago, took only 1 day. I'm very happy with that. RegistrarsAsia and 000domains have very similar account management panel (I guess because they're both OpenSRS reseller) but 000domains is cheaper. Also they are both faster than Dotster to register my domains. I've never had any problems with them so the only times I e-mailed their support (all 3 of them) were when I wanted to ask something, not to fix problems. And they all responded in 1 day. In other words, they are all great :)

Network Solutions is more expensive than Bulk Register, and Network Solutions is the "bully" of the domain business. I don't recommend them.

There's a thread in here somewhere about them. You might read it.

To answer your first question, Ray...

Network Solutions was the first registrar of generic top level domain names (gTLDs) on the internet such as .com, .net, and .org

theirs was a monopoly business under contract with the U.S. government.

but their monopoly was brought to an end last year. other registrars sprang up into this field subsequently. Bulk Register was one of these.

They both offer the same primary service ie. of registering generic top level domain names such as .com, .net, and .org, but due to healthy competition, they may offer other allied services too at different prices.

I use bulk register all the time - even switched my domains from network solutions to it -
They have a good web interface to let you change nameserverers and other details very easily.Plus they are always having specials.

registered my first domain through doster.com tonight and found it a pleasure to use. Very simple, all explained and pretty quick :)

I use 000Domains (http://www.000domains.com) and have been very happy with them to date.

i can recommend bulkregister. i have registered over 50 domains with them. i used network solutions at first, but i find BR to be way cheaper and you can keep track of multiple domains with the one account.

Howdy,

A good option for domain names if you register a lot is
opensrs.com

the offer domains to resellers at 10/domain/year

the cool part is they provide you with client software to place on your website so you can offer domains to your clients. ie the most common selling price with opensrs resellers is $15 i.e. $5 profit

Or if you choose to make no profit it is a nice value added service to offer to your clients!

to get started you have to deposit $250 with them, but that gets you $25 domain years! After the init 250 you there is no minimum.

hope that helps
