Hi guys,

I am using the hosting service of ipowerweb, my site suddenly down for more than 48 hours. No feedback, no announcement, does anyone know what is happening??

Thanks

So what's the scoop?

ipooperweb
ipowerweb

They could be backing up their server. Adn with thousands of sites being backed up you could be waiting day's.

If they use tape backup, it's an hour a gig for backup normally.
Depending on how many sites they cram on the server will determine how long a restore is. If this is even the case.
I really don;t know.

I would bet they don't even have a backup but I could also be wrong there too.

It's a shame when you can't even get an answer out of the hosting comnpany.
Nice!

they may backup their system, but for 48 hrs without any support.
I wonder if they close their business?

If we could get a domain, we could see if it's just his site, or the whole server.

My friend is on Server35 at Ipowerweb (Poor him!) and his site is up and "running" - more like crawling, but up.

It works for me. Is it still down for you?

My site on one of their servers had a load of 138 (nope, I am not kidding) for about 5 minutes..Then the websites would crash, come back, loads of 60 and above for 2 hours..During peak time it shot up to 168 one time.

They probably have dual processors, but still..Those loads are crazy!!

And here I am struggling to keep the server load to .7

They have ~2500 domains at LEAST per server.

Works for me alright. I also have a site with iPowerweb. It hasn't been down. Must be something on your end.

Ipowerweb has many servers Ice, so you could may been on a different server and wouldn't experience the same difficulties he was/is.

Wow! Is that normal?

Yeah, I'm still a noob. I thought that the average was about 20-30 domains per server.

20-30 is quite low, but 2500 hosted domains is a lot.

They don't do domain parking like GoDaddy (where a ton of blank domains that don't get used are easier to handle) at least I don't think... so that's hosted sites.

Works from here...
Try using an anon. proxy - if it works, then is an ISP problem ;)
