I originally posted about this topic @Digital Flare (http://rinoa.nu/digital) and due to the advice from Mao (http://rinoa.nu) Iīm now opening a thread here again,so that others donīt fall in their trap too.
The story:
I bought my domain a few month ago at webhostaz.com and thought it would be a great deal cause i got unlimited space,forwarders,pop3 and that stuff, yep it also didnīt cost that much.
However a bit more than a month ago i recieved a mail from webhostaz telling me that they have some problems and need to move or so,and that due to this i wonīt have FTP access to my domain till July 4th.
I thought that would be ok,but on July 4th surprise i wasn t able to access my files again!!!
And till then nothing changed.
And so I wrote to webhostaz but I didnīt got a reply.I kept writing but silence.
Now I finally decided that I canīt keep this mess longer.
However I now have to switch servers and maybe i donīt even keep my domain name cause i also registered it with webhostaz.
And it seems like not only my domain also others are effected by this.
Chere.nu (http://chere.nu) orTifa.nu (http://tifa.nu) had also major problems cause of webhostaz.
So I really hope this warning helps other ppl too!

I like this quote from their TOS:
In other words, each account is allowed unlimited bandwidth provided each site within the account does NOT consume more than 1.3 GB per month.

Never ever let any company buy your domain for you.
Never ever let any company buy your domain for you.
Never ever let any company buy your domain for you.

Need i go on?

If a company says free domain with hosting, sure let them buy a name and point it to your server but always buy the main name yourself ( in other words let them buy you an extra one but buy the most important one yourself ).

Go to http://www.hostcompanies.com/price.htm for more info.

I also was a victim... I signed up for an account just when they were "moving their servers." I was new to webhosting at this time. I ordered an account, but they put it on the wrong account type, and I had paid yearly, which was $120, and then they said that they had refunded the money, and wanted me to sign up again, so I did, and they charged me another $80. I never heard from them again.... x.x; so there goes $200.......

Would you kindly explain chargebacks to me? I haven't had to go through anything like this before. It would be possible to get my $$ back even though this happened a year and so ago and I don't have any receipts because I was dumb and didn't print them off? o.O; That was a misfortunate investment.....

Would you kindly explain chargebacks to me?Basically what you do is call/contact the bank that issued your credit card and tell them you have a charge to your card that you wish to dispute. They might ask you some questions right then but they'll also provide you with some forms to fill in to document the dispute which you then send back and they'll take care of it.

I'm fairly sure there's a time limit for this though... if you paid for a full year and it's been going on for months it might be too late but it's best to check with your bank to make sure.
