Hi,

I will be launching pretty soon (<3 weeks) a new service I have been working on for almost a year. It is aimed at resellers and web developers. What you get is a control panel that allows you to setup an unlimited number of websites, domains, system users, etc. Similar to a raq control panel but more powerful and in a shared hosting environment. Two plans will be available:

Plan #1:
Unlimited domains/websites/mySQL dbs
1500 MB of transfer
150 MB of disk space

Plan #2:
Unlimited domains/websites/mySQL dbs
3000 MB of transfer
300 MB of disk space
Custom nameservers

Additional data transfer will be about $4/GB and disk space $3/100MB/month.

Each of the unlimited websites will be full featured hosting accounts. You can specify if you wish to allow CGI's, SSL, and this kind of thing when you create it. Each domains also comes with an "end-user control panel", for easy POP accounts/mailing lists, mySQL db's administration. Plus there is a web based file manager, web statistics and a webmail.

The main control panel also gives plenty of usage statistics, so a reseller could monitor the usage level of its clients. It even produce graphics.

So, the purpose of this email is to see if there would be anyone interested in such service and how much do you think would be a reasonable price for each plans?

Thank you!

Cedric

I wonder why the thread got moved to the advertising section. I didn't even mention the organization's name or any URL. I'm not looking for customers here, only advices!

Not to belabour the obvious, but the fact that the above plans are advertised on your website might have something do to with the thread being moved.

For the plan 2, I think that 30 dollars/month is acceptable.

Good luck.

Well, you must consider the fact that you get a powerful system to become your own webhost with unlimited domain and everything. Also, I know 3 GB is not that much, I do expect people to use more than that. Additional bandwidth will be provided at the best price I can get it (currently probably around $4/GB).

I think this is a great alternative for resellers tired of not making money because hosting a very small website with no traffic costs them just as much as hosting a larger site. With this service they can design their own plans and hosting small sites costs them next to nothing so they can make money just like most webhosts do. The system will even let them have resellers working for them.

I think that offering 'unlimited mySQL databases' is rather asking for trouble... badly written code can chew up huge amounts of cpu time.

Leaving that aside, however, I must agree with coolguy23 that $30 is rather high. I wouldn't go higher than $12/$24 for those two plans respectively -- and would probably drop the 'unlimited databases' and reduce the prices further. (But, as any number of people here can tell you, I'm not exactly the world's greatest fan of mysql).
