I have gotten my virtual nameserver setup with my new host and have a question about registering it. The information I have seen says to register the nameserver with Network Solutions. Well what if my domain name (rockhosting.com) which is what the nameservers are based off of (ns.rockhosting.com) is registered with Joker and they use Core.
Would I still go through network solutions to register the nameservers? If not then who? Joker or core and do you know the url to do this with them?
Thanks

Far as I know, you can register the nameservers at NetSol no matter where the domain is registered. As usual, NetSol doesn't do a great job of making this as easy as it *could* be, but just try to follow the crappy directions and dropdown box nagivation to "create a new host record" or something to that effect.

Jeremy-
Our site, intersurge.com, is registered with joker also, and we used joker.com to register our nameservers.
They DO NOT need to be registered with network solutions :)
(Just make sure the client types in the IP/nameserver name)
Good luck!

What is the url on Jokers site to register a nameserver? Do they charge? I have looked all over and kind find any reference on their site.

Just go to http://www.joker.com and log in to the modify domain section.
Then select the "create host handles" option and you will get an e-mail with your new handles (they start COHO-).
