uh-oh... must of read the article on that one web host finder website, with the kid that is going to be president.

You shouldn't look for a host that offers unlimited bandwidth. If you use a lot of bandwidth, you won't be happy with the amount of bandwidth given to you with an unlimited plan.

If you don't use much bandwidth, you should be able to find many host here that meet your requirements.

A couple to check out are f5hosting.com and downtownhost.com(I think their 350mb plan meets your needs).

The plans at HostRocket (http://www.hostrocket.com/v1/hosting_plans.html) are pretty close to what you need. 350mb and 15gig transfer for $12 a month and 450mb and 17gig transfer for $21 a month. You'll never get "unlimited transfer", because those hosts will always cut you short.

Check out www.aletiahosting.com They have great support and have overall been a great host!

Good luck on searching. Btw, don't go w/ any host that allows unlimited transfer...there is usually a catch and they will just shut you done if you use too much for their liking. Not all unlimited hosts, but most...

screamgal do you know how much transfer you'd actually need? 300MB is quite a bit of space, but just wondering about the other point...

well maybe not unlimited transfere then. I'm very new at this, so i'm not exaclty sure what i'm looking for. Is it possible to get one domain, and web space but host 2 sites on it? I just know i need ALOT of space. Is there such a thing as 'unlimited space'? My sites are mainly pictures, so that why i need all the space.

p.s the reason i'm looking for broswer upload is that's the only thing i know how to use. Is it very bad or something?

>>Is it possible to get one domain, and web space but host 2 sites on it?<<

Yes, sure. You can setup your additional sites with a sub-domain. Like in site1.yourdomain.com and sites2.yourdomain.com. YOu can also do it with a directory like yourdomain.com/site1 and yourdomain.com/site2.

>>I just know i need ALOT of space. Is there such a thing as 'unlimited space'?<<

Neither :) But you can get packages with 500MB, 1000MB and even more.

>>the reason i'm looking for broswer upload is that's the only thing i know how to use. Is it very bad or something<<

It's not bad. But if you have let's say 200 files to upload, then you'll find it hard and boring to upload 200 files one by one :)

Ok, let's set you on the road to recovery...

Even if your site is mainly pictures, much can be done in the way of optimizing the images (file size). Heavy images don't help a site both for your visitors (who have to wait to download large files), nor for you (who has to pay for space and data transfer.

I'm not saying you have large images, nor that you haven't optimized them (I don't know), but just in case. My cousin used to scan in photos of herself and slap them up on her site. She used to scan the entire area of the glass, even for 3x5" pictures and at the maximum resolution her scanner could achieve. Needless to say, her images weighed in just a *tad* bit heavy. :D

Next, don't be afraid of FTP. It isn't as evil as you might think it is, nor as difficult to figure out. All you really need to know is the host name (the server name in which you are going to upload to), your username and your password. From there, once you connect, you are presented with something similar to Windows Explorer and if you've experienced that, you shouldn't have a problem.
