Is this another repeat of *****'s huge network and DNS failure of December 2000 - January 2001?!? (what else is new?)

Their web site has been down for days now and I can't get to any of my servers! I even have a domain on SIX name servers and it's DOWN!

Any bets as to how long CI's 100,000 customer's last?

Anybody else with accounts/servers at CI having problems? Anybody successfully cancel their contract because of this mess? :erm:

well, i still can't get into ***** -

I think it's going to hurt them badly if they can't correct the problems real quick - like another 24-36 hours.

In the contracts - - it havs a provision for ***** that relieves them of their downtime gurantee for things that are "out of their hands" doesn't it? I'm guessing that they will claim that it was an act of nature, (code red???) therefore, they are not at fualt for clients domains being down.

I gurantee there will be a few lawsuits this round. But this post is my personal opinion.

I can get to it. Haven't you guys done a good ol' fashioned tracert to determine any net failure in your area ?

I have 2 diff dialup accounts with diff ISPs (dont ask) and while I was connected to one, I could not get to the ***** website OR my websites on their server.
However, with the other one -I can access *****.com AND my websites.

I still can not send or receive email through them so dont know about that.

According to their network status page (if you click on Blocking Traffic) they are blocking certain IP addys from getting in - so maybe thats the IP address you have? I dont know - i just assumed that with my other dialup I had an IP that fell in the range.

Quote from their page:
"Because of Code Red scan repeatedly coming from the same networks we are currently blocking all incoming traffic FROM 63.xxx.xxx.xxx and 209.xxx.xxx.xxx This means that anyone trying to view your website with any computer that is connected to the Internet with an IP address that begins with 63 or 209 will not be able to view that website. FTP, MAIL, TELNET, etc will continue to work. These websites WILL be available to the rest of the Internet on anyone using IPs other than 63 or 209. "

Im still leaving them - in the process of cancelling - but thought I would pass on this info and see what you all think.
