hello all! i've been doing a lot of research on which host to go with, and so far it looks like get-hosted is the winner! i chatted w/ them and they seemed really great! their plan suits me, it is quick loading, and in the US w/ me.

but i've tried to search for consumer experiences w/ them and have come up empty. hostsearch.com doesn't have any reviews and when i do a search here, i primarily get hits from the user "get-hosted.com" moreso than posts regarding the sight!

:o)

deja.com seems to break up my search of "get-hosted.com" into 3 words and then i get a million non-relevant hits even if searched under advanced settings and in quotes. d'oh!

so, is it appropriate for me to ask about experiences w/ them in this forum? i THINK i'm in the right place, but i've said that before... LOL!

I need to apologize for our last few spurts of outages.
BurstNET said there was a technician working on something with the power and this caused a server to be restarted two times. Also, today... I'll quote, "we also had two UPS power systems blow out today that caused a few servers to go down earlier today"

This is our first experiance with the bad UPS so far, and hopefully our last.

???

We have not had any UPS system problems in months....

The only power issues recently in our NOC have been when we took down about 8 servers to add them to the remote reboot hardware, which occured early today. The server here in question was not one of them however...as that one has been on remote reboot hardware for months. I checked the uptime on the machine in question here and it is "23:36", which is almost 24 hours ago....Our remote reboot upgrades took place around 11AM EST today....and this server would only show approx "10:36" instead of "23:36" if it where affected by such.

I keep logs of ALL AIM chats and this is what I received August 7th, around 5PM Est.

"BurstNET: we also had two UPS power systems blow out today that caused a few servers to go down earlier today"

Also, earlier that day around 12AM the server went down and I was told:
"Get Support: Any idea what made it go down?
BurstNET: not too sure....was told that there were some power problems up at the noc. They had an electrician up there fixing somethings...
BurstNET: probably had to do with that :-\"

I was told the server was being rebooted right then, and to give it a few, and over 50 minutes later it was finally rebooted.

Sorry if what I stated was wrong information, but it was only the information I was told by BurstNET.

(BTW, Sharon was very nice and very helpful on AIM)

Well, that is incorrect. I am not sure why she would have stated that...she probably didn't have all the information. I however am physically at the data center the past 72 hours (not happy about it :-) ... busy as heck...) and we have not had any UPS problems. We are having additional power lines run into the building and adding additional racks and UPS systems at this time, so that may have been the confusion.
