shorty 08-07-2001, 06:22 AM hi all
anyone using affordablecolo - they posted on the advertise forum a couple of months ago and just wondered if anyone took them up on their offer?
Gary
Shorty,
I am in the process of shipping a server to Affordablecolo. Speak to Charles if you get a chance, he's been more than helpful in assisting me with my 'bizarre' requirements and above all been most patient.
shorty 08-07-2001, 06:47 AM thanks ck
I've just emailed them with my requirements :) we may try them out with one server and see what its like - traces seem ok

shorty 08-09-2001, 12:42 PM anyone else out there looking at this company? We have tried to spend money with them but 2 days and still no sign of a contract from them - spoke to them on the phone too

energy 08-09-2001, 01:46 PM I have a few servers (and switches) with them for about two months and it has been good so far. They are also a part of Web Works which has been around for a long while and probably not going anyway.
The network is great, they are connected to many carries and I have close to 100% uptime so far. I didn't not have any technical or billing problems with them.
I know that they are very busy right now (don't know why) so you may have to be a little patient and give them a few days to send you the contract.
shorty 08-09-2001, 01:52 PM we are impatient - part of the microwave generation :)
as Homer Sipmson said "is there nothing quicker than a microwave"
got to say usually sales depts are quicker than tech support - so we won't be waiting there's lots of suppliers out there - we are looking to move our operation and have ordered off a couple of different colo/dedicated suppliers to test them out and see who to go with

greggish 08-09-2001, 05:40 PM Joe, I have been looking at AffordableColo also. I'm curious, do you know if your server will be housed in their old Kansas facility or their new Texas one?
JBIZ718 08-09-2001, 05:41 PM I think affordablecolo is about the dallas facility.
I imagine you will be in dallas

cbaker17 08-10-2001, 11:37 AM yes of course, we have more support staff then sales staff.....
(SH)Saeed 08-10-2001, 08:55 PM If you're wondering why Charles have been so busy for the last week, well look no further. I've been keeping him busy on ICQ and email with thousand and one questions :D
Jokes aside, although they've been very busy lately, Charles have still taken the time to answer my many questions in very timely manner.
:agree:
shorty 08-11-2001, 06:23 AM alas maybe he doesn't like us - still no answer - we just get the odd email with
what are you waiting on?
well - I'm waiting on you following up on our telephone converstion and now 2 emails detailing my request to order a server...
our other 2 emails detailing exactly what news we were waiting for have been ignored
obviously my patience has run out and we wouldn't order now but amazing that we didn't get an answer
