Further to my last post about selling email accounts, is there an easy way for me to allow users to add themselves, but only add one user?

For instance, the user pays by credit card, and the "thank you" page is one where he can add his username and password, and set the address where the emails should forward to, but they can only add one user, not numerous one.

I think I may need to either just add these manually or pay someoen to write something for me, but if anyone knows a good solution I'd really love to hear it.

A nice script to use for your site is Autosetup found at autosetup.northwesthost.com

I use it (at saburovo.com), but I wouldn't say it is nice, I would say it is the one that works.

I bought the first version back in May when it was $50 (now it is $90 I think) and while the script seemed to be ugly with many spelling errors, the author, Richard Kurt, was quite determined to implement suggestions and fix the bugs. Richard was also kind to provide updates of Autosetup for free to customers who paid once.

I use Autosetup version 2.1 now. Still it is not perfect and may require a lot of manual work from you. Esp. installation is not fun - you have to read documentation and implement the changes by hand, which is quite dissaponting after seeing nice installs from vBulletin (www.vbulletin.com), for example, where everything is done by install scripts.

I would say it will take 4-6 months before Autosetup reaches the state of commercial product. If you are ready to invest 2-3 days to make it work for you you can buy it now.
