Read a post here few weeks ago that said: "It's amazing
what you can get out there now for $30 a year (hosting).
Does anyone know RELIABLE ones - not connected with
porn - which some of the free offers seem to be.

If you are not looking for megagigs of space and bandwidth, enhancedhost have an under $30 deal. For the average site, you can't go wrong and they have been hosting for over 4 years :)

Most of the hosts I have seen that offered only such plans have not lasted. If they could sell enough accounts yes it could work out. But many choose to take the money and run at some point.

See expamples Below:
Many hosts offering such plans (A) do sell them quickly but at some poing the bubble bursts. The money is spent after 7 months and nothing is coming in. They can't make the server payment and that is all she wrote. This host has no way to sell the clients because the clients don't owe anything, but they still have atleast 5 months of hosting owed them. So in this case the clients are a debt to the host.

In example (B) say a problem arises after 7 months, the host has $273/month in assets, he still has money coming coming in, so if needed he could easily sell the clients to a new host. In this case the clients are an asset.

Simple expamle:
Host (A) sells 13 accounts a month @ $30 dollars each! that is $390 a month coming in every month. or $4680 in first year!

Host (B) sells average 13 accounts a month his monthly income is growing $39, $78, $117, $156, $195, $234, $273, $312, $351, $390, $429, $468. or they made $3042 in first year!

O.K. Glad I asked. If $30 a year is unreasonable for reliable....
Then who is the best for a monthly simple, 10-15 page website
with some sort of frontpage, template for design, or whatever
for a down-right totally inept would be public service
website ? Is iPower and Lunarpages good at $7.95 --
or Verohost at $5. reliable ? Getting lost in the technicalities
of web language. Thanks

If 10-15 pages is all you need, then go with enhancedhost's smallest plan. They aren't going byebye anytime soon, also take a look at myacen's cheaper alternative, www.solidinternet.com.

Hello to all -

I'm new to these forums, and this is my first post. I'm glad to have found these boards, as I do some web design/reselling on the side and I'm always looking for good reliable and affordable hosting deals while avoiding the scammers.

One host I've used for over 2 years now is inexpensivedomains.com . I have my own site and a couple of clients with them using their starter package @ 3.95/month . They have been very reliable and tech support is unbelievably good for the money.

They promote a Live Chat support which was good at first, now most times you try it, it tells you no operators available, -BUT- their email/ticket support is very good and prompt.

They have bigger plans too if you need more bandwidth, but for simple small sites, this is a great place to go.

There are a lot of people that offer low space and low bandwidth deals for under $40 per year.
