They are offering a pretty sweet deal to WHT users, but I couldn't find much doing a search on the site for info. Has anyone had any experience with this host - good or bad? Thanks,
Scott

There may be a few users who have experience though. sahiler 08-12-2003, 10:12 PM Originally posted by Reality Hosting They are just under a year old (according to the whois on the domain) So that may be a little too young for them to have a reputation on WHT. Thanks, Scott Q_Max 08-12-2003, 11:17 PM I'll most likely sign-up with them. The owner seemed nice and very helpful with questions I had. After doing my research the only problem mp3q has is they are co-located with Hostany and everyone knows the reputation they have. But Steve (the owner) did tell me he was on the verge of signing a deal with a new NOC so when that happens I'll give them a try. dftchris 08-13-2003, 12:28 AM The website says they are 4 years old. Just look at http://www.mp3qhosting.net/aboutus.php I haven't heard much about them that I can remember though. sahiler 08-13-2003, 12:08 PM Originally posted by Q_Max I'll most likely sign-up with them. Well, I'm not in a big rush, so I might contact Steve and have him let me know when this happens as well. Thanks, Scott littlebird 08-14-2003, 12:20 AM I can only imagine that must have re-branded at some time during their 4 year history as their domain has only been registered since 13-Sep-02 . That make them just coming up to one year old. SteveD3 08-18-2003, 08:51 PM Hi, Just wanted to answer some questions. First, Q_Max & sahiler, while both of you are clients, I want to let you know how pleased I was to find this thread, and to see you doing research on me before you bought anything. Far too often people don't check out who they host with and get burned. I'm proud to see you at least put in some legwork and went as far as to try to get comments on mp3q. Second, littlebird mentioned re branding. Yes infact we did switch our name after we had some issues with a ISP here in my home state over who could use Indy.net, and well sense at the time we were a small company with only limited funds to fight a court battle we gave up on the name, and chose a new one. Funny thing is the ISP we almost went to court with, was bought out by EarthLink. Now as for the domain getting set up last year about this time, yes we did get this domain last year. We used to use our IRC website to run the hosting from. Some of the people here might remember www.mp3q.net/hosting. As we grew we needed a more professional domain so we got the one we have now. I have not been on WHT for long at all, infact I only found this place last year. I like it here, is a good place to learn from, and another place to get great advice from some of the more expirenced hosting companies. This will be the main reason, almost no one here will know me really well. Anyone who wants to know company history email me or contact me on AIM, or MSN to talk. I'm proud of what my staff and myself have done over these last 4 years. -Steve e-wind 09-02-2003, 07:16 AM I don't know if it is just me but I e-mailed them and got no answer... Looking for other hosts... SteveD3 09-02-2003, 08:12 AM when did you email us? what was the subject? -Steve ibda12u 09-02-2003, 11:02 AM I think EWind is just yanking your chain Steve :D SteveD3 09-02-2003, 11:09 AM I hope so, I would feel bad if I missed a email. Even if it was something I couldnt help with. -Steve e-wind 09-02-2003, 10:35 PM Well, it isn't exactly an e-mail, its that thing asking people to send online request with a promise of a reply in 2-24hrs... SteveD3 09-02-2003, 10:37 PM What was it? I mean weather you want to give me a chance I would still like to track this and see why it was not answered. Please let me know. -Steve e-wind 09-03-2003, 12:46 AM Let me see if I can remeber what I asked... 1. I am from Malaysia, payment options??? 2. What is the full feature of the hosting??? 3. How much will it cost to purchase a domain??? cosmicdynamo 09-03-2003, 03:34 PM Two thumbs up! Steve is very helpful. :) I'm about to order another account soon. Pierre TServo 09-03-2003, 03:43 PM Originally posted by sahiler They are offering a pretty sweet deal to WHT users How did you find them? I just tried to visit there site and it is not responding at: http://www.mp3qhosting.net/ I then tried the IP address of: 69.1.77.30 and I get a default install page for Apache. I then checked the IP of 69.1.77.30 and there are 292 sites virtually hosted on it. Am I missing something? SteveD3 09-03-2003, 07:22 PM Umm, No your not missing anything. The Xeon is running A1 as far as I can tell. How ever I pay to have the server watched and secured once a month so I will check with them. The other servers look good too. What time was this so I can look into it? e-wind: To answer your questions. That form never made it to me or the others. We poped a unused account after we switched email addresses and sure enough your questions were there. I'm sorry we didnt get to reply to you. Im sure you have found a host by now, but if we can help in the future, please email me personaly SteveD3@NOSPAMmp3q.net. Remove No Spam, or check my profile. I can answer them for you, but not in this forum. Pierre: Thanks! I try my best. -Steve SteveD3 09-03-2003, 07:46 PM Tservo, I found the answer. I was told about 3pm today that all my servers just up and rebooted. I dont know if this is a server issue or a UPS issue. I will say this is why you didnt see the site. -Steve e-wind 09-05-2003, 02:46 AM As a matter of fact I haven't... I am in no hurry and can take my time slowly... |
