View Full Version : Please help me....
optmus_prime 08-12-2003, 01:12 AM | I really don't know whats going on.
I can't access my site through its domain name. ie, www.mysite.com.
I check with my webhost, and they say everything is up and running. I tried my back up address (http://webhost.com/~user), and that works fine.
My domain name is registered through http://www.enom.com/. I didn't manually register it, though. It came with my hosting package from my prior webhost. I switch hosts about 2 months ago and everything has been great up till now.
Where do you think the problem could be. I have no clue how to go about fixing it.
Should I transfer my domain to a better place? like godaddy.com?
If so, how do i go about doing that.
Thanks for your help. |
optmus_prime 08-12-2003, 01:15 AM btw, when I Whois my domain name, I get a Timeout. |
Website Rob 08-12-2003, 01:22 AM | Have you changed your Nameservers at your Registrar? New Nameserver info is, or should be, always provided by your Hoster, so you know what to change over to. |
optmus_prime 08-12-2003, 01:26 AM I havn't changed it recently, no. I changed nameservers a few months ago when I switched hosts, but up until now its been working fine.
Im so pissed off. I applied for google's adsense last night, and my site must have went down right after I applies because I wasn't accepted. |
Website Rob 08-12-2003, 01:33 AM http://dnsreport.com/
Should help you to sort out where the problem is. You can then take the information to your Hoster and ask them for advise on the problem. |
optmus_prime 08-12-2003, 01:45 AM The onlything my domain failed on was Reverse DNS entries for MX records, which has to do with mail if im not mistaken. |
Website Rob 08-12-2003, 01:52 AM If dnsreport can use your Domain name, you should be able to as well -- as it uses the same information and just reports it back.
This is starting to sound like a problem your Hoster should be able to help you with, better than anyone else. |
bagfull 08-13-2003, 11:21 AM Maybe your domain is not accessible from different locations... try www.network-tools.com as well.. |
