Hello,

I'm currently running 2 sites, one an interactive archive, and another a vb forum on my cobalt raq-3. Currently I am receiving about 250,000 daily page hits, with almost every page being a dynamic one.

This is understandably hard on the system, and I have spent countless hours optimizing scripts and mysql queries. Also, I have upgraded memory to 256. However, this has never really worked to well, as I am always at around 7% CPU usage.

As my traffic is increasing, this is getting more and mroe difficult... today my CPU briefly went up to a 48% 15 minute average... with 318 tasks running.

I was wondering if I should move off my Cobalt Raq-3.. and if so, whats the best option? I would prefer to have something reasonably priced with a LOT of bandwidth...

I could probably keep my smaller vb site on the raq and move the larger site to another machine...

What do you think

Have you looked at Rack Shack (http://rackshack.com) , they have the Raq4 for $99/m? If you don't want to go that route it might be a good idea to post in the Advertising Forums! Give as much info as you can.

Do you want you own server?
How much bandwidth are you using now?
Are you using Mod_Gzip?
How much space do you need?

I am sure you will get some helpful offers there!

i wouldnt use a raq. i think you need a linux dedicated solution. A correct linux box could handle all your traffic and you wouldnt need two differnt servers.
